Pons plongée

Pons Plongée is strategically positioned on the Quai des Moulins in Sète, providing immediate access to two distinct aquatic environments: the open Mediterranean and the sheltered waters of the Étang de Thau. This dual location allows for a variety of diving experiences, from coastal plateaus to local lagoon ecosystems.

The centre is led by Laurent PONS, a highly qualified instructor with DEJEPS and Nitrox certifications. The facility is designed for efficiency, with a focus on providing reliable, modern equipment and professional guidance for every diver who visits.

The team is composed of professional instructors holding the Brevet d'État, ensuring a high standard of safety and instruction. Laurent PONS brings extensive expertise to the centre, overseeing both training programmes and dive expeditions.

All instruction and communication are conducted in French. The centre is well-equipped to handle a range of divers, from those taking their very first breaths underwater to advanced technicians.

The training catalogue covers the entire progression of a diver's development. Beginners can start with the Niveau 1, progressing through Niveau 2 and Niveau 3, as well as specialized training like the Niveau 4.

For those looking to expand their technical skills, the centre offers Nitrox and Nitrox Confirme courses. They also provide specific training for various autonomous levels, including PA20, PA40, and PA60, alongside the PE 1 and PE 40 certifications. A first aid/secourisme course is also available for those looking to enhance their safety training.

The centre operates a single, ultra-fast semi-rigid boat powered by a 225CV engine. This vessel allows for quick transit to dive sites, making efficient use of your time on the water.

Nitrox is available for those using the boat for their excursions.

The centre maintains a modern inventory of equipment, with all kit being renewed every year. For those who prefer not to carry their own gear, a full range of rental equipment is available, including wetsuits, fins, masks, and snorkels.

Individual components can also be hired, such as regulators, BCDs, and cylinders. The centre provides cylinder filling services for various volumes, including 8/9L, 12L, and 15L cylinders. If you are bringing your own kit, weight is available for hire by the kilogram.

The centre's location allows for divers to experience both the open Mediterranean and the more protected waters of the Étang de Thau. This variety means that conditions can shift between the swell and currents of the sea and the calmer, more enclosed environment of the lagoon.
