Sp.ar.te Diving

Located in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Sparte Diving provides a professional yet intimate diving experience on the French Riviera. The centre is founded and operated by Pierre and Carine, offering a human-scale alternative to the larger, more commercialised dive schools in the region.

As an FFESSM affiliated centre, it focuses on high-quality pedagogy and safety. Whether you are looking for your first experience in the water or are an experienced diver seeking to explore local wrecks or deep sites, the centre provides a structured and reliable environment for your training and exploration.

The team is led by Pierre, a former marine commando, and Carine, who manages the service and customer experience. This combination of military-grade safety expertise and dedicated service ensures that every diver receives professional guidance tailored to their specific needs.

The school maintains a family-oriented atmosphere, which is particularly beneficial for those who prefer smaller groups and personalised instruction. The teaching style is built on respect for the marine environment and a commitment to clear, effective communication during all training modules.

Sparte Diving offers a comprehensive range of FFESSM/CMAS certifications. Beginners can start with a 'Baptême de plongée' before progressing through the formal levels, including Niveau 1, Niveau 2, and Niveau 3.

For more advanced divers, the school provides Nitrox training, including both Elementary and Confirmed levels. There are also specialised programmes such as the Stage planification & plongées profondes, as well as RIFAP and the Bronze, Argent, and Or diver certifications. The curriculum is designed to take you from your very first breath underwater to highly competent, planned deep diving.

The centre operates its own vessel, the Aloha, an 8.5-metre aluminium boat with a capacity for 13 people. The boat is powered by a 130ch Volvo Inboard engine, providing reliable transit to the local dive sites.

Designed for comfort and ease of use, the Aloha features a rear platform for easy entries and exits, two parrot ladders, and a hoist for heavy equipment. Nitrox is available on board, and the vessel is equipped with modern navigation tools, a first aid kit, and oxygen therapy equipment to ensure safety during your trips.

Full equipment hire is available on-site for divers who do not wish to carry their own kit. This includes wetsuits and a range of essential diving gear.

The centre also offers technical services, including the servicing of regulators, BCDs, and dive computers, as well as cylinder reconditioning. For those needing to refresh their equipment, the facility provides a professional environment for maintenance and gear checks.

The local waters are home to a variety of larger species that you may encounter during your dives. You can look out for groupers, great barracuda, and moray eels patrolling the reefs and rocky structures.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants add significant interest to the seabed. Jellyfish are also a regular presence in the area, which is something to be mindful of during your excursions.

The centre offers night diving, allowing you to experience the local reefs under different light and biological conditions. Most dives are conducted from the Aloha, which provides a stable platform for accessing the various sites around Mandelieu.
