Leucate Plongée

Leucate Plongée is situated in Port-Leucate, positioned within the Golfe du Lion Marine Nature Park in the Aude department. The centre sits near the Franqui cliffs, providing easy access to the diverse marine environments of the Mediterranean coast.

With more than 17 years of experience, the centre serves a wide spectrum of divers, from those taking their first breaths underwater to seasoned professionals. They operate year-round, with specific organised outings scheduled from October through to March.

The centre is led by Florent Estour, a highly qualified professional holding BEES 2°, CMAS 3*, and Nitrox Instructor credentials. His extensive background includes 20 years of experience in professional DEJEPS training at the CREPS in Montpellier.

The team of professional instructors is dedicated to all levels of diving, offering everything from introductory baptisms and children's programmes to professional instructor training. The centre is open daily, except for Sundays, ensuring consistent access to the water.

The training programme covers the full progression of diving certifications through ANMP, FFESSM, SSI, and CMAS frameworks. This includes Niveau 1, Niveau 2, Niveau 3, and Niveau 4 courses, as well as professional instructor training.

Specialised training is also available for those looking to extend their capabilities, including Nitrox simple and Nitrox confirmé courses. The centre is equipped to handle both beginners through introductory sessions and advanced divers pursuing professional qualifications.

The Ascendance is the centre's dedicated dive vessel, a 10-metre catamaran measuring 3.30 metres in width. Powered by a 250 hp engine, it is designed for speed and stability, capable of carrying up to 23 passengers.

On board, you will find wide benches for relaxation, dedicated cylinder racks, and a large ladder to make entries and exits from the water straightforward. The catamaran is also configured to facilitate night dives, providing a reliable platform for after-dark exploration.

The centre provides a full range of rental equipment from the Aqua Lung brand, which is regularly maintained and updated. For those needing specific kit, a complete selection is available on-site.

Shore-based facilities include dedicated male and female changing rooms and sanitary facilities equipped with showers. The centre also features a robust inflation station powered by three compressors with a combined capacity of 56 m3/hour, capable of providing Nitrox fills up to 100%.

The centre organises day trips to Spain from September to April, offering divers access to different marine environments across the border. Local diving is influenced by the seasonal rhythms of the Golfe du Lion, with specific outings scheduled to match the best available conditions during the winter months.
