Normoxic Plongee

Located at Port Camille Rayon in Golfe-Juan, Normoxic Plongée serves as a technical hub for divers on the Côte d'Azur. The centre’s name itself reflects its commitment to the precise gas management required for advanced exploration, setting a tone of professionalism and safety from the outset.

Operating as a family-oriented club, the centre balances a warm, welcoming atmosphere with highly demanding pedagogical standards. It is a place where the rigour of technical diving meets the relaxed pace of a Mediterranean dive club, making it suitable for both local enthusiasts and visiting technical divers.

The team consists of two experienced instructors providing instruction through both FFESSM and TDI frameworks. This dual affiliation allows the centre to cater to both the traditional French diving community and the international technical diving circuit.

For those pursuing rebreather training, the centre organises dedicated CCR outings in small groups, with ratios of 6 to 12 divers per guide. This ensures that the specific logistical and safety requirements of closed-circuit diving are met with precision.

The course catalogue spans the entire spectrum of diving, beginning with introductory Baptême sessions. For those looking to build a foundation, the centre offers standard certifications and progression through the FFESSM levels up to Niveau 4.

Technical training is a core strength, with offerings including Nitrox, Trimix OC, and specialized CCR Submatix courses. They also provide specific training for the Submatix Mini-Quantum, covering air, Trimix, and hypoxic Trimix diluents.

The centre operates a 10m semi-rigid boat with a capacity for 30 divers. The vessel is equipped with GPS and VHF to ensure safe navigation across the local sites.

From the deck, you can access a variety of dive types, including night dives and explorations of the surrounding reefs and wrecks. The boat serves as a stable platform for both recreational groups and technical divers requiring specific gas logistics.

The shore-based facilities are designed to support serious diving, featuring a classroom for theory and changing rooms for divers. The centre's technical capabilities are anchored by a 40 m³/h compressor with a 300 bar outlet.

For technical divers, the kit includes an MPS oxygen booster, allowing for the on-site blending of Nitrox and Trimix. The centre is fully equipped to handle the specific logistical needs of rebreather divers, including the preparation of gases and sofnolime.

The local reefs are rich with life, particularly along the walls and rocky outcrops. You will find various species of wrasses, damselfish, and sars darting through the water, alongside larger residents like groupers and barracudas. The seascape is defined by vibrant red gorgonians and chameleon gorgonians that provide structure for the local ecosystem.

Macro life is abundant for the observant diver. You can find various nudibranchs and octopus amongst the crevices, as well as basket stars and fanworms decorating the seabed. These smaller organisms add significant detail to the underwater environment.

In the more open areas and near the wrecks, you may encounter moray eels, conger eels, and various species of sea stars. The presence of diverse fauna such as jellyfish and different types of gorgonians ensures a varied experience across the different dive sites.

The area offers a variety of environments, from calm, shallow reefs to deeper walls. While the Mediterranean can vary, the sites around Golfe-Juan are chosen for their accessibility and the diversity of their underwater topography.
