You are in Cala d’Or, on Mallorca’s south-east coast, with the sea close enough to make the first decision of the day a simple one: swim, walk, or find breakfast.

English, German and Spanish are spoken by the hotel team, so you will be understood on arrival and throughout your stay. The resort has 164 rooms, a varied entertainment programme and plenty of space for sitting in the sun or retreating to the shade. It is a practical choice for couples who want the beach nearby but still like having dinner, drinks and an evening programme under the same roof.

The adults-only policy applies from the age of 18. That keeps the hotel’s rhythm straightforward, although the public beach is freely accessible and may of course have children on it.

You are in Cala d’Or, Spain, on the edge of Cala Egos Beach. The sand is roughly 0.03 miles from the hotel, and access is on foot. Cala Egos is the immediate setting; Cala d’Or’s centre, with shops, bars and restaurants, is about 1.5 miles away.

Other coves are within reach if you feel like changing the view. Calo des Pou Beach is about 0.4 miles away, while Cala Petita Beach is around 0.7 miles away. The local area also puts several independent restaurants and bars within walking distance, so the all-inclusive arrangement does not have to dictate every evening.

Palma de Mallorca Airport is about 27 miles away as the crow flies, with the road journey listed at roughly 34 miles. Crossing between the hotel buildings and reaching the beach involves stairs, worth keeping in mind if easy level access matters to you.

The rooms are arranged for uncomplicated evenings: air conditioning, a balcony with outdoor furniture, free Wi-Fi, a kettle, a safe, a hairdryer and a 42-inch television. The rain shower is a useful detail when you come back sun-warmed and ready to rinse off, while the balcony gives you somewhere to sit without turning the bed into the only chair in the room.

For two people, the Double Superior Sea View is the obvious choice if you prefer a proper double bed and want the room to face the water. Standard Double and Double Pool View rooms use twin beds, while the sea-view versions make more sense if the outlook matters to you more than squeezing the room rate. The Junior Suite Sea View and the larger My Favorite Club suites give you more room to spread out, useful when you want a separate sitting area rather than a compact base.

My Favorite Club is the more serviced version of the stay. It brings personalised check-in and check-out, access to a lounge with snacks and drinks, reserved areas and a selection of the better-positioned rooms. The resort also provides daily housekeeping, room service, lift access to upper floors and accessible bathroom features in suitable areas.

Food is one of the hotel’s stronger practical points, with an all-inclusive formula and six dining options. The main AluaSoul Restaurant covers breakfast, lunch and dinner as an international buffet, with show cooking and an air-conditioned interior. Breakfast is buffet-style, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices available.

For dinner, Umami Restaurant changes the pace with Asian specialities served à la carte. The wider dining offer also includes themed restaurants with rotating opening days, so you will want to check what is running during your stay rather than assuming every venue opens every night. There is also a beach club for snacks, handy when you want something small without turning a swim into a formal meal.

Two bars cover the main drinking duties. Pool Bar serves cocktails and snacks beside the pool, with the bar built into the pool itself; Lobby Bar handles cocktails and other drinks in the entrance hall. Half-board is available, but drinks are not included with that formula, so all-inclusive is the simpler arrangement if you expect to eat and drink mainly on site.

The main outdoor pool is for adults only and has an integrated bar, with sun terraces, loungers and umbrellas around it. Three outdoor pools are described for the resort overall, including one reserved for My Favorite Club guests, so the choice of pool depends partly on the area attached to your booking. Pool towels are available.

The AluaSoul Spa offers massages and facial treatments, alongside a steam room, sauna, relaxation area, body treatments and beauty services. There is also a gym for keeping the joints moving without turning the holiday into a training camp. After that, the sensible option may simply be a lounger and a cold drink.

When you want a little more structure, the programme includes live music, evening entertainment, cooking classes, themed dinner nights, bingo, archery and table tennis. Billiards is available on site, while golf is available within 3 km; hiking, fishing and snorkelling are off-site activities. The beach club, garden areas and chill-out spaces give couples several places to disappear for an hour without leaving the resort.

Check-in runs from 15:00 to 00:00 and check-out from 00:00 to 12:00. You need photo identification and a credit card at arrival, and the hotel asks you to share your expected arrival time in advance. The minimum check-in age is 18.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. A 24-hour reception, luggage storage, concierge service, tour desk, currency exchange and an on-site cash machine cover the useful arrival and departure jobs. Car hire is available through the hotel, and laundry and dry-cleaning services are also offered.

The beach is public and reached on foot, with golden sand, sun loungers and parasols. Access to it, and movement between some buildings, involves stairs. If you arrive with a late flight, the reception remains open through the stated check-in window; for everything else, the airport journey is long enough to make arranging your onward transport before landing a sensible move.
