The building began as a blacksmith’s house in Alcudia’s old town and keeps its bare-stone walls and original tiles, while contemporary lighting and modern furnishings stop it becoming a museum piece.

The hotel opened in 1957 and was renovated in 2018. Its 21 rooms give the place a small-scale feel, with a shared lounge for a quieter spell and a rooftop terrace when you want open sky rather than another screen. The hotel team speaks Spanish and English, so you can discuss the practicalities of your stay without resorting to underwater sign language.

You are in the historic centre of Alcudia, at Plaça Constitució, with the town’s streets and restaurants close at hand. The sea is about five minutes away on foot, while Platja Es Clot and Es Morer Vermell Beach are each roughly 0.7 miles away. Port d’Alcudia Beach is about 1.3 miles from the hotel, and Sant Joan Beach about 1.5 miles.

That puts you in town rather than directly on the sand. It is a useful distinction when you are deciding whether your priority is stepping straight onto a beach or having dinner, a coffee and a stroll within easy reach of your room. Several restaurants sit around the corner, and the Roman Forum and Oratori de Santa Ana are both about 0.5 miles away.

Fish gets particular attention, which is useful when you have spent the day looking at it rather than eating it. The restaurant has a terrace and runs from 7:30 to 23:30.

There is one bar: Roof Top Es Terrat. It specialises in cocktails and gives you a 360-degree view across northern Mallorca. In other words, the evening can move from dinner to the roof without requiring a taxi, a timetable or a heroic level of organisation.

This is a town hotel, so your off-duty options lean towards walking, cycling and seeing Mallorca rather than spending the afternoon beside a large resort pool. Walking tours and cultural excursions let you explore Alcudia at a manageable pace, while bicycle rental and bike tours give you a more active way to cover the surrounding area.

Some activities take place away from the hotel, which is worth keeping in mind when planning a day around rest and travel time. Golf is available within about 1.9 miles, and tennis equipment can be arranged for use off site.
