Ducks Diving Superior

Ducks Diving Superior has been operating in the Red Sea since 2010, establishing a presence in Marsa Alam, Safaga, and Quseir. The Aurora Bay centre is situated directly on the Jabal Al Rossas Bay, providing a convenient base for both local reef exploration and longer excursions by boat or speedboat.

The centre is designed to accommodate all levels of experience, from those taking their first breaths underwater to seasoned divers looking for advanced training. With a focus on reliability and safety, the operation is built around a professional infrastructure that supports both recreational diving and formal certification programmes.

The team is composed of international instructors from various backgrounds, offering a cosmopolitan and friendly atmosphere. This diverse expertise ensures that divers from all over the world can communicate effectively and feel supported throughout their training or recreational dives.

Operating under PADI and SSI affiliations, the centre provides a structured environment for both leisure divers and students. The staff's extensive experience is a core part of the centre's identity, aiming to provide high-quality service across all their Red Sea locations.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of PADI and SSI courses for every stage of a diver's development. Beginners can start with Try Scuba Open Water, Bubble-Maker, or Scuba Diver, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

For those looking to specialise, the curriculum includes Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Drift Diver, and Underwater Navigator. Skill-based training is also available through courses such as Perfect Buoyancy, Boat Diver, and React Right, as well as professional pathways like Divemaster.

The centre utilises a variety of vessels to reach different dive sites, including boats, speedboats, and Zodiacs. For sites like Abu Nawas, speedboats allow for quick transit to the reef, where entry is typically via boat for a drift dive.

For more distant locations such as the Dolphin House, the centre organises full-day trips involving a bus transfer to the marina followed by a boat journey. On certain sites, such as the house reef or the southern side of the bay, Zodiacs are used to provide access to outer coral landscapes and caves.

The shore-based facilities include a dedicated dry room and a compressor room equipped with a Bauer compressor. The centre maintains a fleet of 90 aluminium 12-litre cylinders, which are serviced and tested regularly to meet DIN_EN 12021 standards using 'Air-check'.

A spacious classroom is available for theory lessons and video sessions, alongside two rinsing pools with three compartments each for post-dive kit maintenance. Full equipment hire is available for those not travelling with their own kit, covering everything from regulators to wetsuits and fins.

The local reefs are teeming with diverse fish life, including schools of Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), various snappers, and many species of Wrasse (Labridae). You will often see Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), large groupers (Epinephelus), and various types of barracudas.

Macro life enthusiasts can find many small treasures, such as Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda), various species of Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), and Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae). The reefs also host Nudibranchs, various species of shrimp, and several types of anemonefish.

The larger residents of the area include various sharks, such as Whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus), Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus), and the occasional Hammerhead shark (Sphyrna lewini). For those visiting the seagrass meadows or offshore reefs, sightings of Dugong (Dugong dugon), Green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), and Eagle ray (Aetobatus) are highlights.

In the open water and around the reefs, you may also encounter Spinner dolphin (Delphinidae), various species of Tuna (Thunnus), and large schools of Jacks (Carangidae). The seabed is decorated with a rich variety of hard corals (Scleractinia), soft corals (Alcyonacea), and gorgonians.

Diving conditions vary depending on the site. The house reef in Gabal El Rosas Bay is well-protected and suitable for beginners, while offshore sites like Elphinstone can experience medium to strong currents. Some sites, such as Abu Nawas, require a boat entry for drift diving due to the lack of mooring spots.
