SeaWorld Paradise Diving Center

Located in Marsa Alam, Egypt, SeaWorld Paradise Diving Center is positioned directly within the Novotel Marsa Alam Beach Resort. This central location allows you to transition from the resort to the water with ease, whether you are exploring the immediate house reef or heading out on a boat trip.

The centre serves a variety of diving needs, from those looking to take their first breaths underwater to experienced divers seeking technical specialties. With a focus on safety and professional service, the centre provides a gateway to some of the most famous marine environments in the Red Sea.

The team at SeaWorld Paradise is led by Laurent and Cathy, who manage a professional crew dedicated to both instruction and guiding. They offer a wide range of training programmes through both SSI and FFESSM affiliations, ensuring that divers from different certification backgrounds feel at home.

Instruction is available in multiple languages, including English, French, Italian, and German. This multilingual approach helps ensure that safety briefings and technical training are clearly understood by all divers, regardless of their native tongue.

SeaWorld Paradise offers an extensive curriculum of courses through SSI and FFESSM. For beginners, the programme starts with Try Scuba, Scuba Diver, and Open Water Diver. For those looking to progress, the Advanced Adventurer and various specialty courses are available.

Advanced divers can pursue technical and specialty training, including Deep Diving, Decompression Diving, Wreck Diving, and Advanced Wreck Diving. The centre also provides professional training for those moving towards a career in diving, such as the Divemaster and Dive Guide programmes.

Specialised ecological and skill-based courses are also on offer, covering topics like Marine Ecology, Coral Identification, Fish Identification, Perfect Buoyancy, and Navigation. FFESSM certifications are also fully supported, ranging from Jeunes Plongeurs to Niveau 3 (PA60).

The centre utilises speed boats to reach various dive sites around the Marsa Alam area. These trips allow you to access offshore reefs and wrecks that are not accessible from the shore.

When diving from the speed boats, it is mandatory to use a signal buoy tube. This is a standard safety requirement for the area to ensure visibility and communication during your excursion.

The centre provides full kit hire for those who do not wish to travel with their own equipment. You can rent complete sets or select individual items such as masks, fins, and wetsuits, including 5mm models for cooler conditions.

For night diving, torches are available for hire. The centre also offers Enriched Air Nitrox for divers looking to extend their no-decompression limits during their dives.

The reefs are teeming with life, from large pelagics to small, colourful reef fish. You can expect to see various species of sharks, including Grey reef shark (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos), Whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus), and Silky sharks. Larger visitors such as Hammerhead shark (Sphyrna lewini) and Oceanic whitetip shark (Carcharhinus longimanus) are also part of the local ecosystem.

In the blue water and around the reefs, you will encounter rays such as Eagle ray (Aetobatus) and blue-spotted stingrays. Large fish like the Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), various Groupers (Epinephelus), and Jack (Carangidae) are common sights. You might also spot Tuna (Thunnus) or Barracudas (Sphyraena barracuda) cruising through the water.

For those interested in the smaller inhabitants, the macro life is exceptional. Look closely for Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda), and various species of Octopus (Octopus vulgaris). You may also find Frogfish (Antennarius), Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), and various species of shrimp and sea slugs.

Fixed life provides a stunning backdrop to every dive, with a rich variety of hard corals (Scleractinia) and soft corals (Alcyonacea). The seascape is decorated with Gorgonians, sea fans (Gorgoniidae), and numerous colourful sponges (Porifera), creating a complex and vibrant underwater garden.

Diving in this area is primarily conducted via boat or from the shore. While the house reef offers calm conditions, offshore sites like Elphinstone can be subject to more significant currents and swell.

Night diving is a regular part of the centre's programme, allowing you to see the reef transform as nocturnal species emerge. Divers should always be prepared for varying conditions depending on the specific site and the time of year.
