Operating since 2011, Scuba World Divers has established itself as a significant presence in the Red Sea, with locations spanning from Egypt to Zanzibar. The Marsa Mares Bay centre is situated directly on the beach of the JAZ Costa Mares, JAZ Elite Amara, and JAZ Elite Riviera hotels, providing a seamless transition from your accommodation to the water.

This PADI 5 Star IDC centre is designed for divers who value technical reliability and professional standards. Whether you are looking for a relaxed reef cruise or more demanding excursions, the centre's infrastructure supports a wide range of diving styles, including night dives and specialised wreck or drift diving.

The team is composed of professional instructors and guides capable of supporting divers through the entire PADI progression. From those starting with Discover Scuba Diving to candidates training for Divemaster, the instruction is handled by a multilingual staff. You can communicate with the team in English, French, German, Arabic, Dutch, Italian, Polish, or Russian.

Safety is integrated into the daily operations, with the centre maintaining high standards of emergency preparedness. The team is trained to manage a diverse range of divers, ensuring that both beginners and advanced specialists receive the appropriate level of guidance during their excursions.

As a PADI 5 Star IDC centre, the range of training is extensive. You can begin with entry-level programmes like Bubblemaker, Discover Scuba Diving, or the Open Water Diver course, and progress through Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver.

For those looking to specialise, the centre offers several PADI specialty courses, including Enriched Air Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Navigator, Deep Diver, and Sidemount. They also provide training for technical skills such as Drift Diver, Boat Diver, Wreck Diver, and the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course.

For those requiring rental kit, the centre provides a complete range of modern ScubaPro equipment. The air quality is a priority, with Bauer compressors and a dedicated Nitrox station ensuring clean, enriched air is always available for certified divers.

The Red Sea sites around Marsa Alam are famous for their megafauna. You have excellent chances of encountering dugongs and giant green turtles in the seagrass areas of Marsa Mubarak and Abu Dabbab. In the deeper waters of Elphinstone, you may encounter various species of Shark (Selachimorpha).

The reef ecosystems are vibrant and densely populated. You will regularly see plenty of reef fish, including Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), Angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and various Wrasse (Labridae). Larger predators like Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), Jack (Carangidae), and various species of Grouper are also common residents of the walls and drop-offs.

For those interested in macro life, the coral gardens host a wealth of smaller creatures. Look for Moray eel (Muraenidae), Lionfish (Pterois volitans), and various species of Octopus (Octopus vulgaris). The hard and soft corals provide a complex habitat for Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda), Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), and various species of shrimp and small reef fish.

The area is known for generally calm conditions in the Red Sea, though specific sites like the offshore reefs may experience different dynamics. Currents are typically gentle around sheltered reefs and lagoons, but can become stronger in channels and at outer reef sites.

Seasonal planning is important for certain encounters; for example, if you are diving in the Zanzibar area, whale shark sightings are most likely between July and September.
