Grouper species, including black groupers, Nassau groupers, and the massive Goliath grouper (Epinephelus itajara), are often found near structures, while amberjack (Seriola) and cobias patrol the currents.

For those watching the sandy bottom and reef edges, the biodiversity is significant. Southern stingrays (Hypanus americanus) and spotted eagle rays (Aetobatus narinari) are common, as are various sea turtles, including the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) and loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta). You might also spot moray eels (Muraenidae), such as the green moray (Gymnothorax funebris), tucked into crevices.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants add detail to the seascape. Look for spiny lobster (Palinuridae), various species of shrimp (Caridea), and colourful reef life including coral crabs and gobies (Gobiidae). The structural beauty of the area is provided by a rich variety of corals and sponges (Porifera), alongside Christmas tree tubeworms.
