Sail Fish Scuba has been operating in Key Largo since 2012, establishing itself as a reliable hub for divers exploring the Florida Keys. Situated conveniently on the Overseas Highway, the centre provides easy access to some of the most iconic reef and wreck systems in the region.

The centre focuses on a personalised service model, moving away from the large, impersonal crowds often found in major diving hubs. By prioritising small groups and professional guidance, they ensure that every diver, from those on their first Discover Scuba Diving session to seasoned professionals, receives focused attention.

The team is comprised of 9 professional instructors, ensuring a high level of expertise across various diving disciplines. To maintain safety and individualised instruction, the centre operates with a ratio of one guide for every 7 divers.

Instruction is available in English, Spanish, and Dutch, making the centre accessible to a wider range of international divers. As a PADI IDC centre, they are fully equipped to handle everything from basic entry-level courses to professional-level training.

As a PADI IDC centre, Sail Fish Scuba offers a comprehensive curriculum. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Open Water Diver course, with subsequent levels including Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver.

For those looking to advance their skills or career, the centre provides Divemaster training and various PADI specialties. These include Nitrox, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver courses, as well as EFR (CPR & First Aid) certification.

The centre operates the Deeper, a vessel capable of hosting private charters for up to 10 guests. These trips are designed for those seeking a more bespoke experience on the water.

Nitrox is available on board to extend your bottom time during excursions. For those joining the morning or afternoon tours, optional meals are available to keep you fuelled between dives.

The shop features Cressi equipment and provides a full range of rental kit, including BCDs, regulators, masks, fins, snorkels, wetsuits, and rash guards. If you only require specific items, individual rentals for masks and fins are also available.

On-site services include cylinder refills to support your diving schedule. The centre is well-equipped to handle the logistical needs of both local divers and those travelling to the Keys for a dedicated diving holiday.

The reefs are teeming with life, including large schools of reef fish, snapper schools, and various species of tropical fish. You will frequently encounter colourful fish such as angelfish (Pomacanthidae), butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and sergeant majors.

Larger pelagics and predators are a regular highlight, with sightings of sharks, including Caribbean reef shark (Carcharhinus perezi), reef shark (Carcharhinus), and occasional bull sharks. You may also spot barracuda (Sphyraena), amberjack (Seriola), and horse-eye jacks.

In the sandy areas and around the reef structures, look for southern stingrays (Hypanus americanus), eagle ray (Aetobatus), and spotted eagle ray (Aetobatus narinari). Sea turtles are also common, including the green sea turtle, hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), and loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta).

For those interested in macro life and crustaceans, the environment supports spiny lobster (Palinuridae), lobster (Homaridae), shrimp (Caridea), and various crabs (Brachyura). The reef itself is built upon a foundation of diverse corals and sponges (Porifera), providing a home for moray eels (Muraenidae), grouper (Epinephelinae), and many other small inhabitants.

Diving in Key Largo is subject to local currents and swell, which can vary depending on the specific site and weather conditions. Most excursions are scheduled for either morning or afternoon slots to take advantage of optimal windows.

Divers should be prepared for various reef environments, ranging from shallow reef flats to deeper wreck sites, which may require different levels of buoyancy control and experience.
