Scuba Fun has been a fixture of the Key Largo diving scene since 2008, operating as a PADI 5-Star Resort. The centre is positioned to take full advantage of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, offering access to some of the most iconic dive sites in the United States.

For those looking to move beyond the basics, the centre provides a gateway to both reef and wreck diving. From the shallow, sun-drenched coral gardens to the deep, complex structures of sunken vessels, the local waters offer a diverse range of environments for every level of experience.

The centre is run by a team of experienced PADI-certified instructors known for their patient approach to teaching. They cater to a wide range of divers, ensuring that everyone from first-time students to professional candidates feels supported.

Instruction is delivered in small groups, with a strict maximum of four divers per guide. This low ratio allows for the personalised attention necessary for both skill development and safety. The team is also capable of providing instruction in English and French.

The training programme covers the entire PADI spectrum, beginning with Discover Scuba Diving and the Open Water Diver course. For those looking to advance their skills, the centre offers the Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster programmes.

Specialty courses are also available to help you refine specific skills. If you are looking to refresh your existing knowledge, refresher courses are provided to ensure you are confident before heading back into the water.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit for divers who do not wish to carry their own equipment. This includes regulators, wetsuits, fins, and masks, ensuring you have everything required for a day on the water.

For those interested in technical diving, the centre offers courses for rebreather and Trimix diving. They also provide SDI Visual Inspection Procedures and SDI Air Fill Station Technician training for those looking to specialise in equipment maintenance.

The reefs are home to a vast array of tropical fish and large schooling species. You can expect to see colourful fish, snapper schools, and various species of Jacks (Carangidae) moving through the water. Large groupers, including the Goliath grouper (Epinephelus itajara), are often found near the wrecks and ledges.

Pelagic life is a highlight of the area, with sightings of Eagle ray (Aetobatus) and spotted eagle rays. You may also encounter Nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum), Caribbean reef sharks, and the occasional bull shark. Sea turtles, including the Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) and Loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta), are frequently seen patrolling the reef.

Macro and smaller inhabitants include Moray eel (Muraenidae), such as the Green moray (Gymnothorax funebris), and various species of shrimp (Caridea). The reef architecture is supported by a rich environment of corals, sponges (Porifera), and Christmas tree tubeworms, providing a complex habitat for crabs (Brachyura) and other small crustaceans.

The diving environment in Key Largo is generally characterised by calm currents, making it a reliable destination for both recreational and advanced divers. While conditions are typically favourable, the centre maintains the flexibility to organise dives in a protected lagoon at Jules Undersea Lodge if weather conditions prevent open-water trips.

Visibility in the area typically ranges between 9 and 18 metres, providing clear views of the reef structures and wreck details.
