Anda - Amun Ini Dive

Amun Ini Dive is nestled in a peaceful white sand cove in Anda, Bohol, far from the usual crowded tourist hubs. Positioned in the heart of the Coral Triangle, the area is a global hotspot for marine biodiversity, hosting a significant percentage of the world's coral species and reef fish.

The centre provides direct access to more than 30 dive sites, most of which are reachable within 15 minutes. The local waters are characterised by dramatic walls and extensive gardens of both hard and soft corals, making it a premier destination for those looking to explore healthy reef systems.

As an SSI affiliated centre, Amun Ini Dive operates with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. The team works closely with the local BISU marine biology school and government authorities to maintain the marine protected area located directly in front of the resort.

Divers can participate in active conservation efforts, such as coral fragment planting, alongside five resident marine biologists. The centre maintains a strict non-contact policy for all divers and snorkelers to ensure the protection of the local ecosystem.

Safety is managed through a clear policy of non-decompression dives, no solo diving, and a maximum depth limit of 30 metres. The centre is also designed to support underwater photographers, offering a dedicated camera room equipped with the necessary infrastructure and workstations.

The training programme covers all levels of certification through SSI. Beginners can start with the Try Scuba programme or work towards their Open Water Diver qualification.

For those looking to progress, the centre offers the Advanced Course to further develop technical skills and experience. The instruction is tailored to the local environment, ensuring divers are comfortable with the specific reef conditions of Bohol.

The centre operates three boats to service its morning and afternoon dive schedules. These vessels facilitate access to the surrounding reefs and walls, including specialised trips for the 5 pm mandarin fish sightings and night dives at 6 pm.

The centre provides a full range of equipment for hire, including regulators, BCDs, and exposure suits. For those heading out for evening sessions, torches are available to assist with night diving.

Onshore facilities include a dedicated shop, secure equipment storage, and a spacious common area used for dive briefings. Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to extend their bottom times.

The reefs around Anda are a haven for macro enthusiasts. You can find a wide array of rare species including pygmy seahorses, thorny seahorses, nudibranchs, and various species of shrimp and crabs. The area is also known for its cephalopod diversity, with mimic octopuses, wunderpus, blue-ringed octopus, and the algae octopus frequently sighted.

The hard and soft coral gardens provide the structural foundation for a massive variety of reef fish. You will encounter diverse species of octopus and various small crustaceans amongst the reef structure.

For those interested in larger or more specific sightings, the mandarin fish sessions at 5 pm offer a unique opportunity to observe these colourful creatures in their natural habitat. The local marine protected area ensures a healthy population of reef inhabitants throughout the year.
