There is background music and a television, plus the option of a special candlelit dinner on request. One bar, but it covers the sensible post-dive sequence: drink first, food when the appetite catches up.

The 375-square-metre outdoor swimming pool is the main reason to change out of dry clothes. Its maximum depth is 150 centimetres, and the children's pool is 50 centimetres deep. Four-bed and U-shaped chair jacuzzis are built into the pool area, with sun loungers and umbrellas for anyone whose ideal afternoon involves staying horizontal.

If sitting still becomes too ambitious, the resort has a fitness centre, table tennis and darts. Bicycle rental is available, and the tour desk can arrange days out rather than leaving you to negotiate every excursion from scratch. Snorkelling and boat excursions are also part of the resort's activities, giving non-diving companions ways to spend the day on the water.

The excursion list reaches beyond the beach. You can head towards Phangnga Bay, James Bond Island and canoeing, visit Koh Khai for snorkelling, look for birds on Koh Prathong, or explore Sri Phang Nga National Park with its waterfalls, flora and fauna. Khao Lak bamboo rafting is another option, while the resort also offers trips to Surin and Similan for snorkelling and diving. Families have a children's pool, and the resort is set up around family holidays rather than treating younger guests as an administrative complication.

The journey from Phuket International Airport takes around 90 minutes, and an airport shuttle is available through the resort. Car hire is also available.
