Blue View Divers has been operating on Koh Phi Phi since 2006, providing a boutique diving experience in the heart of Thailand’s famous marine park. The centre is positioned with a view over Loh Dalum Bay, serving as a base for divers looking to explore the limestone scenery and vibrant reefs of the region.

As a PADI 5-Star Eco Dive Centre and a long-standing Green Fins member, the operation focuses on sustainable tourism and reef conservation. The proximity of the dive sites, typically just 20 minutes from shore, allows for more time in the water and less time spent travelling.

The team is led by PADI Staff Instructors Caroline and Kris, who bring over 20 years of experience diving the waters of Phi Phi. This management team oversees a crew of eco-minded PADI professionals trained to maintain high safety and conservation standards.

The centre operates with a small-group philosophy, maintaining a ratio of 4:1 for fun dives and courses, and a 2:1 ratio for Discover Scuba Diving. While trainee professionals may occasionally join trips for educational purposes, you will always be guided by a qualified and experienced PADI Professional.

For those who are nervous or non-swimmers, the centre is the only one on Phi Phi equipped with an on-site swimming pool, making it an ideal environment for initial training and building confidence.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of PADI training, from entry-level programmes like Discover Scuba Diving and the PADI Scuba Diver course to full Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. For those looking to progress their careers, the PADI Divemaster course is also available.

Specialised training is a core part of the curriculum, including the PADI Deep Diver Specialty, Wreck Specialty, and Night Diver Specialty. The centre also provides technical and safety-focused courses such as the Emergency Oxygen Specialty and the PADI Specialty Boat Diver course.

Conservation is heavily integrated into the educational offerings. You can enrol in the PADI AWARE Shark Conservation, Dive Against Debris, Coral Conservation, or the Coral Propagation Course and Workshop. Other specialised training includes the Underwater Naturalist, Search & Recovery Specialty, and Fish Identification Course.

Daily trips are conducted using Dory!, a custom dive boat designed for comfort and efficiency. The boat facilitates two trips per day, with morning and afternoon sessions covering two dives per trip.

The boat travels to the various reefs and walls of the Phi Phi Marine Park, including the Bida Islands and the areas around Phi Phi Leh. It is well-suited for both morning departures and afternoon trips for those returning to the island.

The reefs are home to a diverse array of large marine life, including blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus), hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata), and Green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas). You will often encounter Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus), blue-spotted stingrays, and various species of sharks such as the Leopard shark (Triakis semifasciata).

Large schools of fish are a constant presence, including snappers (Lutjanus), trevally, jacks (Carangidae), and fusiliers (Caesio). You may also spot Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), mackerels, tuna (Thunnus), and dogtooth tuna (Gymnosarda unicolor) cruising the walls.

The reef structure itself is built upon a foundation of hard corals (Scleractinia) and soft corals (Alcyonacea), including sea fans (Gorgoniidae). These provide habitat for anemonefish, damselfish (Pomacentridae), and various species of butterflyfish (Chaetodon).

Macro enthusiasts can find a wealth of smaller creatures, such as nudibranchs, octopuses (Octopus vulgaris), and various species of shrimp (Caridea). Look closely for seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), and the Ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus) amongst the reef structure.

Many of the dive sites in the area are characterised by natural drift diving, where you can move along reefs, walls, and bays before being collected by the boat. Night diving is also available, offering the chance to see the magical glow of plankton in the water.
