Amazing Phuket Adventures

Based in Rawai, at the southern tip of Phuket, Amazing Phuket Adventures serves as a gateway to the Andaman Sea. The centre is situated just 1 km from Nai Harn beach and 5 km from the Chalong jetty, which is the primary departure point for boats heading out to the islands.

From this base, you can access a variety of diving styles, ranging from shallow coral reef slopes to deeper wreck dives. The centre organises daily excursions to the Racha islands and the Phi Phi archipelago, while also arranging liveaboard trips to more remote destinations like the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Tachai, and Richelieu Rock.

The centre is an SSI affiliated diving operation with a team of instructors experienced in both English and French. This bilingual approach makes it a practical choice for international divers looking for clear communication during briefings and training sessions.

The team focuses on a client-centred approach, aiming to provide professional coaching for everyone from those attempting their first bubbles to those working towards professional certifications. They also offer private luxury charters by yacht or speedboat, which include a chef's menu for those looking for a more bespoke experience on the water.

The centre offers a complete curriculum of SSI courses for all levels of progression. Beginners can start with Try Scuba Diving, Scuba Diver, or the Open Water Diver course.

For those looking to advance their skills, the training includes Advanced Adventurer, Rescue Diver, and the Divemaster programme. They also provide Scuba Skills Update sessions for divers looking to refresh their buoyancy and handling before heading out on a trip, alongside various SSI Specialty courses.

A full range of diving equipment is available for hire, allowing you to travel light if you prefer. This includes regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, fins, and masks.

The reefs around Phuket are home to a diverse array of tropical fish and larger pelagics. You will frequently encounter reef fish, snappers (Lutjanus), angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and various species of butterflyfish (Chaetodon). Larger visitors include blacktip reef sharks, turtles, and eagle rays (Aetobatus).

During the season from November to February, Racha Noi becomes a key location for seeing Manta rays (Mobula alfredi). You may also spot various species of sharks, including blacktip reef sharks and whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus), patrolling the deeper sections of the reefs.

For macro enthusiasts, the sites offer plenty of smaller treasures. Look closely for nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), various species of shrimp, and pipefish. The area is also known for its diversity of corals, including soft corals (Alcyonacea), which provide the structure for much of the local marine life.

Diving conditions in the region vary by site. While many reef locations offer low to moderate currents, the King Cruiser wreck can present more difficult and stronger current conditions that require advanced skills.

Visibility across the local dive sites typically ranges between 8 and 25 metres. It is always advisable to check with the team on the day of your dive to get the most current information regarding local conditions.
