No Gravity Dive Center

Located in Phuket, No Gravity Dive Center has been a fixture of the local diving community since 2007. As an authorized SSI Dive Center, they provide a structured gateway to the diverse marine ecosystems of the Andaman Sea.

You can choose between daily boat trips to nearby reefs or more extensive multi-day liveaboard safaris. These safaris target the highly regarded Similan Islands and various sites throughout southern Thailand, allowing you to reach more remote locations.

The centre operates as an SSI Dive Center, catering to a wide range of divers from those taking their first breaths underwater to professional-level students. They offer a variety of training programmes, including private courses for those who prefer one-on-one instruction.

To ensure a controlled learning environment, training groups are limited to a maximum of 4 students. This small ratio allows for personalised attention during your certification process.

The training catalogue covers the full spectrum of SSI certifications. Beginners can start with Basic Diver Programs and progress through to the Open Water Diver qualification.

For those looking to advance their skills or career, the centre provides instruction from intermediate levels through to professional-level courses.

For those travelling light, the centre provides a complete range of equipment for hire. This includes everything required for a full dive setup, from regulators and BCDs to fins and masks.

Beyond the standard kit, the centre can assist with arranging your accommodation in Phuket, making it easier to coordinate your diving schedule with your stay.

The waters around Phuket are home to a vast array of tropical fish and larger pelagics. You can expect to see various reef fish, snappers, angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and fusiliers (Caesio) navigating the coral structures. Larger species such as trevallies, jacks (Carangidae), and barracudas (Sphyraena barracuda) are also frequently encountered in the water column.

For those watching the reef top and sandy patches, turtles and various rays, including marbled rays and blue-spotted rays, are common sights. You may also encounter blacktip reef sharks, white-tip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus), and bamboo sharks (Chiloscyllium) patrolling the areas.

The reef architecture is supported by a healthy variety of soft corals (Alcyonacea) and various other corals that provide habitat for anemones (Actiniaria) and sea cucumbers. These structures host a constant movement of butterflyfish (Chaetodon), surgeonfish (Acanthuridae), and parrotfish (Calotomus).

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, particularly nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani) and various species of shrimp, including cleaner shrimp (Lysmata). Keep an eye out for ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus), and different varieties of seahorses (Hippocampus kuda) tucked into the reef.

The region offers excellent visibility, typically ranging between 10 and 30 metres. Water temperatures remain warm throughout the year, generally staying between 28°C and 30°C.
