Phuket Dive Center

Phuket Dive Center is an established operator in the Mueang Phuket district, serving as a gateway to the diverse marine environments of the Andaman Sea. With more than seven years of experience and over 2,500 successful dives completed, the centre has built a reputation for reliable service across both day excursions and multi-day liveaboard trips.

The operation focuses on providing access to the most significant sites in the region, from the vibrant reef systems of the Phi Phi Islands to the historic structures of local wrecks. Whether you are looking for a single day of exploration or an extended voyage, the centre is structured to handle the logistical needs of the Andaman's varied dive sites.

As a PADI affiliated centre, the team is composed of professional instructors capable of guiding divers through the entire training spectrum. Instruction ranges from the initial Discover Scuba Diving experience for beginners up to professional-level Divemaster training.

The centre is also committed to environmental stewardship, participating in regular cleaning campaigns and awareness seminars to protect the local marine ecosystems. This focus on conservation is integrated into their operational philosophy, ensuring that the sites they visit are maintained for the long term.

The training programme covers the full PADI curriculum, starting with Discover Scuba Diving and the Open Water Diver course. Divers can progress through Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and eventually to the Divemaster level.

Specialised training is also available to refine specific skills, including the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep Diver, and specialty courses for Wreck diving, Night diving, and Underwater photography. For those needing to brush up on their skills before a trip, Refresher courses are also offered.

The fleet is headlined by the MV Mandarin Queen 9 (also known as the Jovanna), a marine-grade steel monohull configured as a liveaboard. This vessel features 13 air-conditioned cabins, with 8 located on the upper deck and 5 on the lower deck, providing accommodation for up to 26 clients. Onboard facilities include private bathrooms with hot water, televisions, and a dining area serving both Thai and Western buffet-style meals.

For day trips, the centre operates the MV Mandarin Queen 7 and MV Mandarin Queen 5, both powered by high-performance engines. These vessels are equipped to handle the transit to sites like Phi Phi and Racha, offering a comfortable platform for divers. Onboard amenities for day trips include freshwater showers, an air-conditioned lounge, and a dedicated photo preparation area. For relaxation between dives, the boats feature entertainment zones with consoles like the PS5 and Nintendo.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit, including masks, snorkels, fins, wetsuits, and dive computers. For those looking to upgrade their personal equipment, an on-site shop stocks brands such as Scubapro, Suunto, and Aqualung.

Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time, and the centre maintains oxygen safety protocols on site. For those travelling from hotels, transfers are included as part of the excursion service.

The marine life in this region is characterised by healthy coral reef ecosystems. You will regularly encounter various species of fish and vibrant coral formations that provide the backdrop for every dive.

Sea turtles are a regular presence in the waters around the Phi Phi Islands and the surrounding reefs. These creatures can often be spotted navigating the reef flats and deeper sections of the sites.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants include a variety of reef fish and crustaceans that inhabit the crevices of the coral. The diversity of the reef ensures that even during shallower dives, there is plenty of detail to observe among the sponges and anemones.
