The city is close at hand. Parque de Santa Catalina is about 1 mile away, the Elder Museum around 1.3 miles, and Poema del Mar Aquarium roughly 1 mile on foot. For food, Peña La Vieja and Piemonte are within a few steps, with El Novillo Precoz also close by; cafés and bars sit within a short walk rather than requiring a taxi expedition.

The useful distinction here is not a long list of room labels but what you want to see when you open the curtains. Choose a sea-view studio if the Atlantic is part of the holiday rather than merely the backdrop on the walk to the beach. The balcony studios give you private outdoor space, while some apartments look towards the building's inner courtyard instead.

Every accommodation option is built around self-catering. You have a kitchenette with a hob, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee machine and kitchenware, plus a dining area or table. That gives you somewhere to put breakfast before an early departure, and somewhere to sit with a cold drink when restaurant plans have lost the argument.

The larger sea-view apartment is the practical choice for a family or small group, with two bathrooms and room for several guests. Studios suit couples who want less fuss. Beds are twin singles in the studio categories, so couples who prefer one large bed should check the selected option rather than assume the photograph has settled the matter.

The main activity is wonderfully low-tech: walk directly onto Las Canteras Beach, find a lounger or parasol, and allow the Atlantic to do the scheduling. The beach is long enough for a proper stroll, and the furnished roof terrace gives you another place to sit above the waterfront. Golf is available within about 2 miles of the property. In the city, Parque de Santa Catalina is roughly 1 mile away, while the Elder Museum and Patio de Daoiz are around 1.3 and 0.7 miles away respectively. Poema del Mar Aquarium is about 1 mile on foot, giving couples an easy outing that does not require turning the day into a military operation.

The appeal is choice without ceremony. You can stay close to the sand, wander through the city, visit a museum or simply take the lift back to your apartment and use the kitchen. There is no need to fill every gap in the timetable; divers have already done enough before lunch.

Gran Canaria Airport is about 15 miles away by road, with a drive of around 20 minutes. Car hire is available, although parking should be checked as part of your arrival arrangements; the property also lists paid parking. The hotel is central and beachfront, so you can manage much of the immediate area on foot.

Check-in runs from 13:30 to midnight, and check-out is by 12:00. You need photo identification and a credit card at arrival, and the property asks you to provide your expected arrival time in advance. Cash is an accepted payment method.
