Villas Blancas

Villas Blancas is a detached holiday villa in Playa Blanca, built for the kind of stay where you have room to spread out, cook when you want and close the door on the day's timetable. The private garden, terrace and pool give you your own outdoor base rather than a hotel lobby routine.

It suits divers travelling with family or friends, particularly when several people want separate bedrooms and a proper living area. There is also a solarium for the important business of doing very little. You are in Playa Blanca, at the southern end of Lanzarote, in a tourist area with beaches, restaurants, bars and activities close by. Flamingo Beach is about 1 mile away, while Playa Blanca itself is roughly 1.6 miles on foot or 1.8 miles by car. Montana Roja Beach is around 1.7 miles away, and Playa Dorada is about 1.9 miles away.

The setting also works for a day out of the water. Timanfaya National Park is about 4.5 miles away by the direct distance shown for the area, with a driving distance of around 15 miles. Yaiza is also within reach for a change of scenery, while Kikoland - Family Club is about 0.7 miles away.

This is not a property on the beach, so a car is useful if you want to move between beaches, dive centres and dinner without turning every outing into a small expedition. Free public parking is available on site, and there is also street parking.

The main attraction here is space. The villas are arranged for larger groups, with three- and four-bedroom layouts, two or three bathrooms and living areas with a sofa, seating area and dining space. That gives you somewhere to sit, eat and compare dive plans without having to conduct the evening around the edge of a double bed.

The larger villa is the obvious choice when several divers are travelling together and everyone wants a proper bedroom rather than a carefully negotiated corner of the lounge. The three-bedroom option works well for a family or a smaller group that still wants the freedom of a whole house. Both villas are family rooms, and children of any age are welcome.

Air conditioning matters in Lanzarote, particularly when you return warm, salty and ready to stop being useful for the day. Heating is also available for cooler evenings. A refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher and drying rack make the villa practical for a longer dive holiday, while wardrobes, linen, towels and private bathrooms keep the basics straightforward. The terrace and outdoor dining area extend the living space outside, with garden views and a private pool close at hand.

This is a self-catering setup, so your kitchen becomes the operational centre of the evening. It includes an oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine, kettle and kitchenware, with a dining table inside. That is useful when the only thing you want after diving is food that arrives without another booking, taxi or conversation.

Outside, the terrace has furniture and barbecue facilities. You can eat in the open air, keep the menu simple and let the pool do the atmospheric work. There is no breakfast timetable to chase before a morning departure; coffee and an early snack are under your control.

When cooking feels like too much effort, Playa Blanca brings restaurants and cafés within reach. Sebastyan's is about 0.7 miles away, Restaurante Grill El Argentino around 0.8 miles, and Natura Beach Tapas Bar roughly 0.9 miles. For coffee or something lighter, Yum Yum and Sandra-S are about 1.1 miles away, with Cappuccino Grand Café around 1.3 miles away.

The private outdoor pool is the centrepiece of the villa's non-diving life. It measures 7.5 by 3.5 metres and is heated from 1 November to 30 April, giving you a straightforward way to cool down, stretch out or spend an afternoon refusing to make another plan. The solarium is there for the slower version of the same idea.

The garden and terrace give you outdoor space without having to leave the property. Outdoor furniture and a barbecue make the villa work for a relaxed lunch or an evening meal, while the seating area indoors gives you somewhere comfortable to retreat when the sun has done enough for one day.

For something more active, a golf course is within 3 km. The tour desk can also help organise outings, and Timanfaya National Park is close enough to make a worthwhile land-based excursion. Playa Blanca's beaches, cafés and bars provide further options when the group cannot agree on a single definition of relaxation.

Lanzarote Airport is about 18 miles away by road, with a drive of roughly 33 minutes. Fuerteventura Airport is considerably farther, at around 36 miles by road and about 1 hour 27 minutes by car. Airport transfers are not listed among the villa's services, so arranging your own onward transport is part of the arrival plan.

Check-in runs from 16:00 to midnight, and you need to give the property your expected arrival time. A photo ID and credit card are required at check-in. Check-out is between 09:30 and 10:00, which is an early finish if you have spent the previous evening discussing whether one last drink was technically necessary.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, parking is free on site, and the villa has air conditioning, a safe deposit box and a tour desk. The property is non-smoking, parties are not allowed, and quiet hours run from 21:00 to 10:00. The villas are not a hotel with a reception running a full daily programme; they are private holiday accommodation, so planning your arrival and evening meals sensibly will make the stay run more smoothly.
