Atlantic Divers

Located in Costa del Silencio, Atlantic Divers has been a fixture of the Tenerife diving scene since 1987. Originally founded by a British family, the centre is now run by Claus Rosenkilde, who transitioned from a legal career to focus on developing the local diving culture.

As a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort, the centre is positioned to handle everything from introductory dives to professional-level training. Their location on the volcanic island provides access to a diverse range of underwater environments, from sheltered reef flats to historical wrecks.

These include PADI Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Night Diver, Underwater Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and the Delayed Surface Marker Buoy specialty.

The local waters are home to a diverse array of pelagics and reef residents. You will regularly encounter sea turtles (Cheloniidae), including the green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) and loggerhead turtles, alongside large schools of fish and various rays such as the Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus) and Atlantic stingrays.

In the seagrass meadows and reef areas, look for octopus (Octopus vulgaris), moray eels (Muraenidae), and various species of eel (Anguilliformes). Large barracuda schools (Sphyraena barracuda) and different types of wrasse (Labridae) are also common sightings.

Macro enthusiasts can find plenty to observe, including various species of octopus, cuttlefish (Sepiidae), and crustaceans such as the Canary Islands lobster (Homaridae). Keep an eye out for scorpionfish, frogfish (Antennarius), and various species of shrimp (Caridea) amongst the reef structures.

The seabed and rock formations are decorated with a variety of fixed life, including different types of corals, sponges (Porifera), and sea anemones (Actiniaria).
