The waters around Tenerife host a diverse array of large pelagics and reef life. You can encounter various rays (Batoidea), including stingrays, devil rays, and Atlantic stingrays (Hypanus americanus), as well as eagle rays (Aetobatus). Large fish, including groupers (Epinephelus), amberjack (Seriola), and barracuda schools, are common sights throughout the area.

The reef environments are rich with life, featuring sea turtles (Cheloniidae), such as the green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) and loggerhead turtles. You will also find various species of octopus (Octopus vulgaris), cuttlefish (Sepiidae), and moray eels (Muraenidae), including the black moray eel and duckbill moray eels.

Macro life and smaller residents provide endless interest for observant divers. Look for nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and various species of shrimp (Caridea).
