Awequatic Divers

Awequatic Divers is situated in Rasdhoo, positioned within the ecologically significant waters of the Rasdhoo Atoll. This area is recognised as an Ecologically and Biologically Significant Area (EBSA) by the United Nations, serving as a vital sanctuary for marine biodiversity.

The centre operates close to the Madivaru Region, a Marine Protected Area established in 2018. This protection has allowed the local coral communities and marine life to flourish, providing a stable environment for exploration across the 20 dive sites available through the centre.

The team is led by Harry, a PADI instructor and the base manager, who provides local expertise specifically regarding the Rasdhoo area. Being a local expert, he offers insights into the specific currents and seasonal patterns of the atoll.

Awequatic Divers assists with the logistical side of your trip, offering coordination for local accommodation and advice on travel routes and timings to reach Rasdhoo. This support is designed to help you plan multi-island vacations and manage the logistics of arriving at the atoll.

As a PADI affiliated centre, Awequatic Divers offers a range of training options. The curriculum covers everything from introductory dives for those new to the water to more advanced certifications.

You can work through the standard progression of courses, including Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver, to build your skills in the atoll's varied environments.

The atoll is a hotspot for biodiversity, particularly for juvenile fish and various reef fish species. You will regularly encounter a variety of predators that patrol the deeper sections of the reefs and channels.

The marine life is diverse, with opportunities to see larger pelagics such as manta rays and sharks. These encounters are a primary draw for divers visiting the Rasdhoo Atoll.

On the reef itself, the ecosystem is supported by vibrant coral communities that provide habitat for a wide array of smaller organisms and reef-dwelling species.
