Résidence Eole is an aparthotel in Cargèse for divers who prefer a private base to a conventional hotel room. You get your own apartment, outdoor space and a sea view, with enough practical equipment to settle in properly rather than live out of a suitcase.

The mood is independent and straightforward. You can make breakfast when it suits your dive schedule, return to air conditioning after a hot day outside and use the living area as somewhere to sit without having to balance everything on the edge of a bed. You are in Cargèse, on Corsica's west coast, with Port Cove around 0.3 miles away. Pero beach is about 0.8 miles from the residence, while Menasina is roughly 1 mile away. Chiuni and Capizzolu give you further coastal options at around 2.5 and 2.1 miles respectively.

The immediate area is useful when hunger arrives before patience does. Le Cabanon de Charlotte Cargèse is about 0.2 miles away, U Rasaghiu around 0.3 miles, and L'Agula Marina roughly 0.5 miles. Ajaccio Napoléon Bonaparte Airport is about 31 miles by road, with a driving time of around 50 minutes; Calvi – Sainte-Catherine Airport is around 60 miles away by road.

Choose the smaller sea-view apartment if you are travelling as a couple and want a manageable base with a balcony or terrace. The larger apartment gives a group more room to spread out, with a separate seating area and dining table making it easier to live normally between dives rather than eat every meal perched on luggage.

The useful details are all here: air conditioning for the warm return from the coast, soundproofing for a quieter night, a private bathroom and a private entrance. Sea views and outdoor furniture give you somewhere to sit with a drink or a coffee, while the sofa provides a proper place to recover when your legs have had enough of Corsican roads.

The kitchen is equipped for real self-catering rather than emergency toast. You have a refrigerator, microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and kitchenware, plus a washing machine and tumble dryer. A drying rack, wardrobe and ironing facilities take care of the less glamorous side of travelling; the sea view can handle the rest.

This is an apartment stay, so the table is largely in your hands. The kitchen gives you the tools for a quick breakfast before an early start, a proper meal when you are too tired to go out, or something cold from the refrigerator after a long day in the water. The dining table and outdoor dining area mean you can eat sitting down, which is an underrated luxury after wrestling with kit and straps.

When cooking feels like one task too many, Cargèse offers nearby alternatives. Le Cabanon de Charlotte Cargèse and U Rasaghiu are both within roughly 0.3 miles, while L'Agula Marina is about 0.5 miles away. The surrounding listings also include Bar des Chasseurs, Bar Skipper and Bar le Loretto, though these are much further away and better suited to an outing by car than a barefoot wander.

Walking tours are available for the days when you want to see more of the area without turning the recovery day into another endurance event. The nearby beaches give you further reasons to leave the apartment, with Port Cove close by and Pero, Menasina, Capizzolu and Chiuni spread along the coast.

Snorkelling and fishing are available away from the property, giving non-diving companions something of their own to do while you are underwater. The apartment's balcony or terrace then brings the day back to a simpler scale: a chair, a view and no timetable worth mentioning.

The apartments are non-smoking, and parties or events are not allowed. Airport access is simplest from Ajaccio, around 31 miles by road and roughly 50 minutes away. A hire car or arranged transfer will make the surrounding beaches and the dive centres in Cargèse easier to reach.
