Blue Brothers Diving

Located in El Gouna, Blue Brothers Diving has been a fixture of the local diving community since 1997. As a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort, the centre provides access to some of the most iconic reefs in the Red Sea, operating with a focus on personalised service and small group sizes.

Whether you are looking for a relaxed reef dive or a more technical excursion, the centre organises trips via their 25-metre boat or speedboats. Most days involve visiting two different dive sites, allowing you to experience the variety of the local marine environment.

The team is composed of experienced professionals dedicated to safety and environmental stewardship. They maintain a strict ratio of maximum six divers per guide, ensuring that every buddy pair receives appropriate attention throughout the dive.

Environmental responsibility is integrated into their daily operations. The centre uses CO2-compensated boat engines, employs 19-litre reusable water bottles, and the boat 'Vienna' is equipped with a wastewater tank to prevent any discharge near the reefs. They also actively participate in both marine and terrestrial clean-up initiatives.

The centre offers a comprehensive curriculum of PADI courses for every stage of a diver's development. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Scuba Diver course, progressing through to PADI Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver.

For those looking to professionalise their skills or specialise, the centre provides training for Rescue Diver, Divemaster, and various specialty courses. These include PADI Nitrox, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Drift Diver, and Peak Performance Buoyancy, as well as Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care.

The centre operates a 25-metre boat, the Vienna, alongside speedboats for excursions. The larger vessel is designed for day trips, visiting two dive sites per day.

On board the Vienna, you can find water, fresh fruit, cakes, and a lunch service. Nitrox is available for use on the boat to extend your bottom time on the reef.

For those not travelling with their own kit, a full range of equipment is available for hire, including masks, snorkels, fins, and wetsuits. Complete kit rentals are also provided for divers who prefer not to carry their own regulator or BCD.

Safety is a priority, with oxygen for emergency use available on-site. The centre is conveniently located near the El Gouna hospital, which houses a hyperbaric chamber just five minutes away.

The reefs are home to a vibrant community of fish, including Anthias, Glassfish (Atherinidae), sergeant majors, and various reef fish. You will also encounter larger pelagics and predators such as Great barracuda and occasionally sharks.

In the crevices and under ledges, look for octopus, moray eels, scorpionfish, and various species of wrasse. Nudibranchs and flatworms add a splash of colour to the macro life available for keen observers.

The hard and soft coral landscapes provide the essential structure for this ecosystem, supporting a wide array of life from small crustaceans to larger reef inhabitants.

The Red Sea offers a reliable diving environment year-round. Currents at the local sites are generally weak to moderate, though they can strengthen on certain days, which provides excellent opportunities for drift diving.

Visibility is typically excellent, often ranging between 25 and 30 metres, making for clear viewing of the reef architecture and marine life.
