Dive Trek

Dive Trek is situated in the heart of El Gouna, positioned directly on one of the famous lagoons that define the downtown area. Since 2007, the centre has been operating year-round, catering to both adults and children looking to explore the Red Sea.

The centre's location provides easy access to a variety of underwater environments, including coral gardens, rocky formations, and accessible wrecks. Because they prioritise variety, you won't find yourself repeating the same few sites every day, ensuring a fresh experience with every trip.

The centre is affiliated with both PADI and CMAS, ensuring a broad range of training standards and certification options. The team is experienced in handling all levels of divers, from those taking their first breaths underwater to professional candidates.

Instruction and guidance are provided in English, French, and German, making it easy to communicate technical details or dive plans. For those looking to advance their careers, the centre supports the full progression through to Divemaster.

Safety is a central pillar of their operation, with the centre being insured for professional civil liability through DAN. Furthermore, the El Gouna hospital, which houses an advanced decompression chamber, is located just five minutes from the centre.

The training programme is comprehensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI and CMAS certifications. Beginners can start with the Bubblemaker Program, PADI Discover Scuba Diving, or the PADI Open Water Diver course.

For those looking to build technical skills, the centre offers the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, as well as specialties such as Deep Dive, Wreck Dive, and Nitrox Enriched Air. They also provide Emergency First Response training.

Professional divers can pursue the PADI Divemaster course, while those looking to refine their skills can enrol in specific modules like Control Buoyancy or photography and video courses.

The dive boats can accommodate up to 30 people, providing ample space for divers to relax between descents. On board, you will find a sundeck and shaded areas to protect you from the sun, along with toilets and freshwater showers to rinse off after the dive.

Full-day trips include lunch and a selection of hot and cold beverages. The boats are equipped to handle various dive profiles, including night dives, and Nitrox is available for those using enriched air.

The centre maintains an extensive inventory of rental equipment, with approximately 60 sets of full kit available in various sizes. This includes Aqualung regulators in both DIN and International configurations, as well as a variety of wetsuits, fins, and masks.

For gas blending, the centre utilises Coltri sub compressors, including the MCH 13-215, MCH 36-600, and a dedicated Coltri sub Nitrox 250. They offer a range of cylinders, including 12-litre aluminium tanks and 15-litre steel cylinders.

A dedicated wet area is provided on-site, allowing you to rinse your kit, hang it to dry, or store your dive bags securely between dives.

The reefs around El Gouna are home to a variety of interesting marine life. You can observe Glassfish (Atherinidae) moving in large groups through the water column near the reef structures.

The hard and soft coral formations provide a complex habitat for various species, creating a rich backdrop for your dives. These gardens are the foundation of the local ecosystem, supporting a wide array of reef inhabitants.

Macro life and smaller creatures can be found amongst the crevices of the rocks and coral. Divers should keep a sharp eye out for smaller organisms that inhabit the reef flat and the sheltered areas of the coral gardens.

Diving in this region is possible year-round, with the local environment offering stable conditions for both recreational and advanced divers. The dive profiles are generally subject to Egyptian legislation, which limits depths to 30 metres for no-stop dives, with extensions to 40 metres possible under specific conditions.

Divers are required to carry a dive computer and an appropriate surface signaling device for every dive. It is also highly recommended to carry a primary and a secondary torch for any dives involving low light or night exploration.
