The training programme covers the full spectrum of SSI certifications. Large pelagics like trevally, barracuda, and Napoleon wrasse are common, and you will frequently see turtles and various species of parrotfish.

For those interested in macro life, the area is a haven. You can find nudibranchs, seahorses, flamboyant cuttlefish, mimic octopuses, and various species of shrimp and octopuses. The seagrass and sandy patches also host ribbon eels and ghost pipefish.

In Raja Ampat, the biodiversity is even more concentrated. You can expect to see manta rays, especially during the peak season from December to February, as well as sharks and a vast array of reef fish. The coral gardens are exceptionally healthy, featuring a massive variety of hard and soft corals that support the entire ecosystem.

Diving in Komodo requires an understanding of significant tidal shifts. Currents can range from gentle drifts to very strong flows, particularly in narrow channels like the 'Shotgun' area. Divers should be comfortable with current-driven environments and, for advanced sites, capable of managing high-flow situations.

Raja Ampat is known for its nutrient-rich waters, which support immense life but can also bring varying conditions. Between June and August, the sea can become more agitated for a few hours each day. The best time to plan your visit to Komodo is between April and November, while Raja Ampat is best visited from September to May.
