Mariafe Inn suits you if you want a straightforward base between flights, town days and excursions rather than a resort built around staying on the premises.

There is a garden, a terrace and a shared lounge with television, so you have somewhere beyond your room to sit for a while. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and daily housekeeping keeps the routine simple. Nothing here requires a grand plan; that is rather the point when your luggage has spent enough time organising itself.

You stay on Lagan Street in Barangay Milagrosa, Puerto Princesa City, Philippines, a five-minute walk from the Palawan Provincial Capitol. Capitol Park Square is about 0.4 miles away on foot, while the Palawan Museum and Mendoza Park are both around 0.8 miles away. The location puts you in the city rather than beside a beach, with Pristine Beach about 1.4 miles away by car.

For a couple, this works best as a base with a little breathing space rather than a property that tries to keep you busy from breakfast onwards. That is a fair trade if your priority is to get out, see Palawan and return to a room with air conditioning.
