Alien Divers

Located right on the water's edge near the Nopharatthara Beach national park campsite, Alien Divers serves as a dedicated hub for divers in Ao Nang. Although the centre was established in 2024, the team is led by Pet Pumchoy and brings more than 20 years of experience navigating the waters of the Krabi region.

The centre focuses on high-standard instruction and environmental stewardship. They work closely with national parks to remove abandoned fishing nets and actively participate in beach and reef clean-ups to protect the local ecosystem.

The centre is affiliated with CMAS and offers a structured progression from beginner to professional levels. Their instruction is geared towards those looking for serious certification, including the professional Three Star training path.

Beyond standard training, the team provides specialised underwater search and recovery services. This technical capability makes them a reliable choice for inspecting or retrieving objects lost at sea.

Alien Divers provides a comprehensive range of CMAS certifications. Beginners can start with the CMAS One Star or Beginner 1* courses, with progression leading through CMAS Advanced 2** and up to the CMAS Dive Leader 3*** level.

For those looking to pursue a career in diving, the centre offers professional training, including dedicated packages that include accommodation for Three Star training. They also provide refresher training and SCUBA Experience Dives for those looking to get back into the water.

The centre is conveniently situated with direct water access for easy transitions between the shore and the dive site. Full kit hire is available for those not travelling with their own equipment.

The reefs in the Ao Nang and Phi Phi areas are rich with diverse marine life. You will find various species of groupers (Epinephelinae) and snappers (Lutjanidae) patrolling the structures, alongside schooling fish such as fusiliers (Caesio) and jacks (Carangidae).

Large pelagics and reef residents add life to the water column, including various rays such as eagle rays (Aetobatus), manta rays (Mobula alfredi), and blue-spotted stingrays (Blue-spotted stingrays). You may also encounter blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus) or other reef sharks (Carcharhinus) during your dives.

For those interested in macro life, the area hosts a variety of specialised creatures. Look for frogfish (Antennariidae), stonefish (Synanceia), and scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) amongst the reef structures. You can also find nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), various species of seahorses (Hippocampus), and octopus (Octopus vulgaris) throughout the habitat.

Soft corals and various coral gardens provide the essential structure for this ecosystem, supporting a vast array of crustaceans including crabs (Brachyura) and shrimp (Caridea), as well as various species of anemones.
