Located in the Ao Nang region of Krabi, Fast Manta Diving Krabi serves as a hub for divers looking to explore the limestone formations and vibrant reefs of the Andaman Sea. The centre operates primarily around the Phi Phi islands and the local islands surrounding Ao Nang, providing access to everything from shallow coral gardens to deeper pinnacles and wrecks.

As a PADI 5 Star IDC, Freediver, and Eco Center, the operation is built around sustainable practices and professional development. Whether you are looking to complete your first open water qualification or you are an instructor candidate, the centre is geared towards high-standard training and environmental stewardship.

The team is highly qualified, offering a wide range of instruction from PADI Open Water Diver through to the Instructor Development Course (IDC). They are also specialists in freediving and conservation-focused training, including PADI Coralyfe Reef First Aid and AWARE specialty courses.

To ensure a controlled environment, the centre maintains a ratio of one guide for every six divers. The staff is multilingual, capable of conducting business and instruction in English, French, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Dutch, Thai, and Afrikaans.

The centre provides a complete progression of PADI certifications. For beginners, they offer Discover Scuba Diving and the Open Water Diver course, moving into the Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver levels.

Experienced divers can pursue specialty training, including Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Photography, and conservation-based specialties like AWARE Shark and Ray Conservation and AWARE Dive Against Debris. The centre is also an IDC facility, meaning professional instructors can complete their training here, alongside Divemaster and Eco Divemaster programmes.

The centre's primary vessel is the Ocean Manta, a custom-built aluminium catamaran designed specifically for diving. It offers superior stability and generous space for up to 22 divers, providing a much more comfortable platform than a standard speedboat. On board, you will find lunch, fruit, water, and electrolytes to keep you hydrated during the day.

For different trip requirements, the centre also utilises traditional longtail boats. These vessels are well-suited for reaching specific local spots and offer a more traditional Thai experience on the water.

Full equipment hire is available on-site for those not travelling with their own kit. The centre provides all necessary diving gear to ensure you are ready for your scheduled trips.

Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time. For those travelling from outside the immediate Ao Nang area, such as Khlong Muang or Tub Kaek, hotel pickup services are provided.

The reefs are characterised by a vibrant array of fixed life, including extensive soft coral gardens and various species of anemones. You will find a healthy environment populated by sponges and various hard corals that provide structure for the local inhabitants.

In the sandy areas and reef slopes, you can encounter a wealth of macro life. This includes nudibranchs, harlequin shrimps, various species of shrimp, and seahorses such as the tiger seahorse. Garden eels are also common, swaying with the current across the seabed.

The larger pelagic and reef species are a highlight of the region. Divers frequently observe blacktip reef sharks, leopard sharks, and various types of turtles, including the hawksbill turtle and green sea turtle. You may also see eagle rays, blue-spotted stingrays, and large schools of fish including barracudas, snappers, and fusiliers.

Conditions around the local Ao Nang islands are generally mild, with currents typically being weak or non-existent. This makes the area very accessible for a wide range of diving abilities.

However, conditions can change around the King Cruiser wreck, where strong currents may be encountered during the periods of a full moon or new moon. Divers should always check the local forecast and lunar cycle before heading out to these specific sites.
