Located in the heart of Phuket between Kata and Karon, Oceanic Dive Center has been a fixture of the local diving community since 1999. As a family-run operation, the centre maintains a personal, club-like atmosphere that has seen many divers return year after year.

Whether you are looking for a shallow reef to refresh your skills or a multi-day liveaboard to the Similan Islands, the team provides tailored itineraries based on your experience and the current conditions.

As an IDC centre affiliated with both PADI and SSI, the centre provides high-level instruction for all stages of a diver's journey. The team is experienced in guiding both recreational divers and those pursuing professional certifications.

Safety and environmental responsibility are central to their operations. The centre is an active member of GoEco Phuket and is affiliated with Shark Guardian, supporting the conservation of sharks and marine life. They are also members of the Divers Operators Club in Thailand (DOCT) and the Thailand Diving Association (TDA).

The training programme is comprehensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI and SSI certifications. Beginners can start with Try Scuba or Discover Scuba Diving before progressing to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver.

For those looking to specialise or advance their careers, the centre offers PADI Nitrox, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver courses, as well as Rescue Diver and Divemaster training. They have a particular expertise in children's programmes and professional development.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time, with 32% Nitrox available at the centre and further options provided on board.

For daily excursions, the centre includes weights and cylinders in their trip packages. They also provide buffet meals, snacks, fruit, and water on board to ensure comfort during the day.

The reefs are teeming with life, from large pelagics to abundant reef fish. You can expect to see snappers, fusiliers (Caesio), jacks (Carangidae), and various species of triggerfish (Balistidae). Larger visitors such as tuna (Thunnus), barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), and various rays, including blue-spotted rays, are also present.

The hard coral and soft coral (Alcyonacea) structures provide a home for a massive variety of invertebrates. Look closely for macro life such as nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), various types of shrimp including cleaner shrimp (Lysmata) and dancing shrimp, and seahorses (Hippocampus kuda).

Seasonality plays a role in what you might encounter; between December and April, the ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus) can be spotted. During the months of January to March, the area becomes a prime location for whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) and manta rays (Mobula alfredi).

Diving in this region is best experienced from November to May, which aligns with the dry season for Kata Beach and the optimal window for the Similan Islands. Many sites in the area are characterised by low currents, making them accessible to a wide range of divers.

Water temperatures remain consistent at around 29°C throughout the year, providing stable conditions for both short excursions and extended liveaboard trips.
