Located in Arinaga, Grande Canarie Plongée serves as the French-speaking gateway to the Buceo Sur diving operation. This family-run establishment offers a technical, methodical approach to diving, catering to those who value precision and safety in their underwater activities.

From its base in Arinaga, you are perfectly positioned to access the diverse marine environments of Gran Canaria. The centre is conveniently located just 15 minutes from the airport, with the capital, Las Palmas, to the north and the Maspalomas dunes to the south.

The centre is led by Yann, an experienced instructor holding DEJEPS, PADI MSDT, and SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer qualifications. This technical expertise ensures that training is handled with a high level of professional rigour.

Instruction is provided in French, Spanish, English, and German. To maintain a high standard of safety and personalised attention, the centre operates with a strict ratio of maximum two divers per instructor.

The training programme is comprehensive, covering everything from Discover Scuba Diving and introductory courses to full certification levels. For those looking to advance, the centre offers PADI and SSI specialties and professional-level training.

Specialised training is also available for technical divers, including Sidemount and professional development courses.

The shore-based facilities cover 200 m² and include essential amenities such as hot showers and toilets. The centre also maintains a dedicated training room and a workshop for equipment repair.

For those looking to rent, the centre provides well-maintained, high-quality kit. On-site, you will find a compressor to service your cylinders and full facilities for your stay.

The marine life in the area is diverse, with the Cabrón marine reserve providing a rich habitat. You can regularly encounter barracuda, moray eels, and various species of stingray.

During the end of summer, you may have the opportunity to see manta rays. Other notable residents include angel sharks, porcupinefish, and grunts.

In deeper waters or specific sites, hammerhead sharks can occasionally be spotted. The wrecks and reefs also host various species of rays and large barracuda.

The accessibility of certain sites, such as Caleta de Abajo, depends heavily on favourable sea conditions. For the more spectacular wrecks like the Arona, visibility and depth are subject to the prevailing sea conditions.
