Mirafondos is situated in a central position in Las Palmas, positioned between the Mesa y López commercial area and Las Canteras beach. The centre provides a gateway to the diverse underwater topography of Gran Canaria, ranging from shallow reef flats to deep volcanic structures.

The centre is led by Acisclo Lorenzo - Kiko, a highly qualified instructor trainer with expertise in TDI/SDI, advanced Trimix, and rebreather diving. This level of instruction ensures that technical divers have access to high-level guidance for complex decompression procedures and extended range diving.

The team operates with a focus on professional standards, offering instruction in Spanish. They provide a full suite of services including equipment sales, rentals, and a specialised on-site workshop for the repair of BCDs, regulators, and computers.

Mirafondos offers a complete curriculum of training through SDI, TDI, and PADI affiliations. For recreational divers, the syllabus covers everything from the initial Open Water Diver course through to Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster levels.

The marine life around Gran Canaria is diverse, with many species found near the volcanic walls and reefs. You can regularly encounter grunts and various species of rays. During the summer, the area becomes particularly active with the presence of Southern stingrays and angel sharks.

In the sandy areas and seagrass meadows, it is common to see stingrays and angel sharks patrolling the bottom. These species are often more visible during the warmer summer months.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants are also present, including various species of octopus and rays that inhabit the seafloor.

Diving in the area is conducted via land-based entries or by boat. The centre offers night diving sessions, allowing you to explore the reefs under different light conditions.
