Grupotel Orquidea is a beachfront hotel in San Agustin, built around the simple pleasures that matter once the day’s plans are over: a balcony, a swim, something cold to drink and dinner without having to go hunting for it. Restaurante El Sultán covers lunch and dinner from 12:30 to 22:30. TAVERNA is the evening option, open from 18:00 to 20:00 and available by reservation. The main restaurant serves European cuisine, and special-diet menus can be requested. There is also a child-friendly buffet.

Three drinking and snack stops keep the layout simple: The BAR, THEAS Coffee Shop and Snack Bar Fata Morgana, which focuses on snacks. A bar for the evening, a coffee shop for the slower moments and a snack bar when waiting for the next proper meal — no complicated taxonomy required. Dinner comes with a dress code: men need long trousers and long-sleeved shirts.

The heated outdoor pool faces the sea, with the beach immediately beyond it. Sun loungers, parasols and pool or beach towels are available, giving you the choice between salt water, chlorinated water or simply remaining horizontal. There is also a children’s pool and a water slide, so the pool area is not designed solely for quiet laps.

For more deliberate relaxation, the spa offers massage, facials, a hammam, sauna, jacuzzi, mud baths and body wraps. Its open-air circuit faces the sea, which is a more convincing place to unwind than a windowless room full of tiled optimism. A fitness centre, fitness lockers and personal trainer cover those mornings when sitting down feels too easy.

You can also play tennis, use the games room or billiards, join aerobics, watch live sport and take part in evening entertainment. A kids’ club and playground give families their own timetable, while the garden and sun terrace leave couples with perfectly respectable permission to do very little.
