Sa Caleta Tenerife is situated in Los Cristianos, a convenient base in the south of Tenerife that is easily accessible from the airport. Since 2013, the centre has operated as a professional PADI facility, providing daily excursions to the diverse marine environments that define the Canary Islands.

The local waters offer a compelling mix of volcanic topography and historical interest. You can choose between exploring basalt columns, navigating through swim-throughs, or visiting well-preserved wrecks that have become artificial reefs in the Atlantic.

The centre operates with a family-oriented atmosphere, prioritising a personalised approach to diving. This means you can expect smaller groups and instruction tailored to your specific experience level, whether you are a beginner or an advanced diver.

All courses and dives are led by experienced instructors. The team is capable of handling everything from introductory dives to professional-level training, ensuring a consistent standard of safety and knowledge across all skill levels.

The centre provides a comprehensive range of PADI training, starting from the Open Water Diver course through to Advanced Open Water Diver. For those looking to progress further, they offer the Rescue Diver and Divemaster programmes.

Specialty training is also available to refine your skills, including Nitrox, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Night Diving. They also provide orientation training to help you navigate the local underwater environments with confidence.

The centre operates the Blau, a dedicated dive boat equipped with a Suzuki 250 engine for reliable and efficient transit to the dive sites. The vessel is designed to provide a comfortable platform for daily excursions and night dives.

Nitrox is available on board, allowing for extended bottom times on many of the local sites. The boat serves as the base for daily departures to the reefs, walls, and wrecks of the southern coast.

On shore, the centre is well-equipped for preparing for your dives, featuring dedicated areas for washing and drying your kit. You will find changing rooms, showers, and a relaxation area to unwind between sessions.

Full equipment hire is available for those not travelling with their own rig, including wetsuits, fins, and masks. Please note that you will need to provide your own dive computer, as these are not included in the standard rental packages.

The marine life in this area is defined by the volcanic landscape, with many species finding refuge in the basalt columns and crevices. You will frequently encounter schools of fish, including colourful reef fish, parrotfish (Calotomus), and various species of wrasse (Labridae). Large groups of roncadores often surround divers, creating a highly immersive environment.

Macro life is abundant for those who enjoy searching the rocks and sand. You can find octopus (Octopus vulgaris), cuttlefish (Sepiidae), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and various species of shrimp (Caridea). The crevices are also home to many species of moray eel (Muraenidae) and scorpionfish.

For those looking for larger animals, the area is known for sightings of green turtles (Chelonia mydas) and dolphins (Delphinidae). You may also encounter eagle rays (Aetobatus) and electric rays. In the winter, there is the opportunity to see angel sharks (Squatina).

The best conditions for diving in this area are typically found during the calmer months of September and October, when the swell is minimal or non-existent.

While the area is generally accessible, certain sites like El Condesito can be subject to strong currents, and the local topography includes various caves and swim-throughs that require appropriate certification and experience.
