Dive In The World

Located in La Teste de Buch, Dive In The World operates primarily through shore diving in the Bassin d'Arcachon. This approach offers a flexible and ecological way to explore the local waters, making it an ideal choice for divers who prefer a more direct connection to the environment.

Managed by David Ferreira, the centre has been established since 2013. The operation is built around a personalised service, catering to those looking to develop their skills through structured courses or those seeking guided exploration of the local marine landscape.

The centre is run by David Ferreira, an instructor with over 12 years of experience in the field. He holds both DEJEPS and OWSI qualifications, providing a high level of expertise for both recreational and advanced divers.

As an EFR instructor, David also handles first aid training, and he specialises in Peak Performance Buoyancy to help divers refine their control underwater. His background in underwater photography means he is well-equipped to guide you toward the best subjects for your own shots.

In addition to the Bassin d'Arcachon, the team works seasonally on the Catalan coast, providing a broader perspective on French diving conditions.

The centre provides a comprehensive range of training through both PADI and ANMP affiliations. You can start with beginner levels such as Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver, or progress through Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver.

For those following the national French curriculum, training is available for Niveau 1, Niveau 2 (PE40/PA20), and Niveau 3 (PA 60). The centre also offers specialised instruction in Nitrox and Peak Performance Buoyancy, alongside EFR and RIFAP first aid courses. Advanced divers can work towards their Divemaster certification here.

Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to extend their bottom time. The centre focuses on a flexible service model, allowing you to organise your sessions according to your schedule.

The local waters support a variety of interesting species. You can often find European conger (Conger conger), cuttlefish (Sepiidae), and various species of blennies and gobies (Gobiidae) amongst the structures.

In the sandy areas and around the edges of the habitats, look out for octopus (Octopoda), rays (Batoidea), and electric rays (Torpedinidae). You may also encounter velvet swimming crabs, spider crabs, and various species of mullet.

For those interested in macro life, the area hosts scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), seahorses (Hippocampus), and sea anemones (Actiniaria). Keep a close eye on the details to spot jackknife fish or smaller crustaceans tucked away in the environment.
