Tauchen Hurghada

Tauchen Hurghada has been operating in the Red Sea since 2012, providing a dedicated base for divers looking to explore the waters around Hurghada. The centre is established as a German-speaking school, catering to those who prefer instruction and communication in German or English.

Located in the heart of Hurghada, the centre is positioned directly opposite the Hotel Beirut. They offer daily boat excursions that typically include two dives at different sites, with hotel transfers included for most local stays.

The centre is run by a team of 12 qualified instructors, ensuring a high level of expertise across various disciplines. They maintain a strict ratio of no more than four divers per guide, which allows for a more personalised experience and closer supervision during dives.

Instruction is available through multiple certifying bodies, including PADI, SSI, and CMAS. The team is proficient in both German and English, making them well-suited for international divers seeking structured training or relaxed exploration.

The training programme is comprehensive, covering everything from the PADI Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver courses to advanced certifications like the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. For those following the CMAS path, they offer Open Water, Advanced Open Water, and Rescue Diver/Divemaster courses.

Specialised training is also a core part of their curriculum. You can undertake specific courses for Nitrox, Deep diving, Wreck diving, Drift diving, and Night diving. For professional progression, they offer the PADI Divemaster programme.

Daily excursions depart from the Hurghada area, with the centre providing transfers to and from your hotel. Onboard the vessel, you will find a sun terrace, a toilet, and a shower. The service includes lunch and drinks to sustain you throughout the day's diving schedule.

For those not travelling with their own kit, the centre maintains a full range of rental equipment for both adults and children. This includes wetsuits, masks, fins, and regulators, all of which are regularly maintained.

Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time. The centre is well-equipped to handle the requirements of both recreational and specialised diving, including night dives and wreck explorations.

The surrounding reefs are home to a vast array of colourful fish. You will regularly see various species of Butterflyfish, Parrotfish (Calotomus), and Damselfish (Pomacentridae) navigating the hard corals and soft corals. Schools of Anthias (Anthias), Chromis, and Sergeant majors add constant movement to the reef top.

Larger pelagics and reef residents are also present, including various types of Jack (Carangidae), Tuna (Thunnus), and Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda). It is common to encounter turtles and different species of Grouper (Epinephelus) near the reef structures.

For those interested in macro life, the seabed and crevices hold many treasures. Keep an eye out for Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), and various species of Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) or Frogfish (Antennarius). You may also spot blue-spotted stingrays or different types of Moray eel (Muraenidae) amongst the rocks.

The centre conducts daily excursions and night dives, following a standard schedule from morning until late afternoon. Diving conditions vary depending on the specific site, with some locations being more suited to drift diving or wreck exploration.
