One terminal, no classic lounge to speak of but getting into the Philippines here is far more straightforward than picking your way through Manila's four terminals.

How long is your layover?
2 hrs
No documented procedure covers airside transit here give yourself margin at every gate.
- One terminal handles every flight, domestic and international alike.
- Departures follow a security check on entry, a possible terminal fee, then a second screening before the gate and you'll do that twice if you're on two flights.
- ⚠️ There's no documented airside transfer process without re-checking in: guides quote recommended arrival times before a flight (1 to 1.5 hrs domestic, 2 to 3 hrs international) rather than a connection window.
2–5 hrs
The basics are there, but two sources disagree on the Wi-Fi plan as though you won't have it.
- ⚠️ Free Wi-Fi is disputed between sources: one guide says there's none, a more recent one claims it covers the whole terminal. Treat it as unconfirmed and check when you land.
- Cafés and fast-food counters (Bo's Coffee, Jollibee) sit on the departures side, past security, and none of it is free.
- A paid massage service operates on Level 2, on the international departures side.
- ⚠️ No shower, free or paid, is documented anywhere in the terminal.
5–10 hrs
Getting out is easy enough the Philippines ask nothing extra of these passports.
- VISA REQUIRED VISA REQUIRED in the strict administrative sense, but with NO ADVANCE FORMALITY France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and Portugal all enter without a visa for stays of up to 30 days, provided your passport is valid for 6 months and you're holding an onward ticket. There's nothing here matching Manila's eTravel online registration.
- ⚠️ The airport runs no official city tour. Trips to Panglao or Tagbilaran go through local agencies, and you'll need to book them yourself.
10 hrs +
You'll be sleeping a short drive away nothing sits right against the terminal.
- VISA REQUIRED VISA REQUIRED (same 30-day exemption as above) the hotel zone around Alona Beach and its surroundings holds most of the options, a few minutes away by taxi, van or tricycle from the terminal.
- ⚠️ No hotel is documented within walking distance or linked to the terminal: the norm here is a short road trip, not a covered walkway.
- Don't count on a free night from the airline: Philippine Airlines' stopover accommodation policies cover the big hubs like Manila, not Panglao.
What catches travellers out
There's no proper lounge, even with Priority Pass
Unlike Manila, Panglao has no classic lounge. The only VIP access runs through a third-party service you book in advance, not a membership card you show at the door.
Free Wi-Fi isn't guaranteed
Two sources flatly contradict each other on whether it's available. Don't rely on it for a last-minute coordination call with your dive centre.
No hotel is 'at the airport'
There's no walkway and no hotel cluster attached to the terminal the way there is in Manila: budget for a taxi or van ride to Alona Beach, even on a long stopover.
Why not wait it out in peace?
There's no proper lounge at Panglao even Priority Pass gets you nowhere here. The only VIP option is booked online, as a service rather than a card you flash at the door.
Traveller reports agree on one point: there's no classic lounge in the terminal, so everyone waits it out in the general departure hall.
A third-party operator (airssist) sells access to a private VIP space Wi-Fi, drinks, a snack, somewhere quiet to sit with no credit card or membership scheme required, booked in advance or on request.
A 'VIP lounge' does exist in the terminal, but it's reserved for premium-fare passengers on specific airlines rather than sold to walk-up travellers. Philippine Airlines has no operational Mabuhay Lounge at TAG.
This is something you book ahead as a service, not a pass you buy on the spot budget for a VIP arrangement, not a walk-in lounge ticket.

Nothing sits against the terminal most of what's on offer is a short drive away, at Alona Beach.
- Compare on the usual booking platforms: no international chain is documented right by the terminal.

The diver’s reflex
Pack your kit for two screenings, not one
This terminal runs security twice on the way out once on entry, once before the gate and you'll go through the whole routine again if you've got a second flight the same day. Keep your regulator, dive computer and camera housing somewhere you can pull them out fast rather than buried at the bottom of the bag.
Two spare batteries between 100 and 160 Wh, never more
CAAP applies the same thresholds here as everywhere else in the country: batteries for your torches and housings travel in the cabin only, terminals protected, no limit up to 100 Wh, a maximum of two items between 100 and 160 Wh with the airline's agreement, and nothing above that gets on board.
Arrange your pickup before you land
Free Wi-Fi isn't guaranteed at TAG the sources contradict each other so confirm the time and meeting point with your dive centre or hotel before you land, rather than counting on a signal to sort it out once you're through arrivals.
