Hipoxia Freediving is a professional school dedicated to the discipline of apnea, operating across two distinct environments: the coastal waters of Baja California and the urban setting of Mexico City. They specialise in high-performance training, catering to divers looking to transition from recreational breath-holding to competitive levels.

Their curriculum is designed to bridge the gap between basic breath-hold techniques and elite performance. Whether you are training in a pool in Mexico City or heading out on an expedition in the Sea of Cortez, the focus remains on technical precision and physiological mastery.

The school is led by national champions, ensuring that the training you receive is rooted in high-level competitive experience. This professional oversight is central to their identity, whether you are working on basic equalization or advanced performance techniques.

Instruction is provided in English, with staff also speaking Spanish. The training programmes are highly personalised, focusing on specific goals such as depth training, relaxation, or even professional instructor qualifications.

The school offers a comprehensive range of SSI certifications. You can begin with the Freediver Level 1 course or progress through Advanced Freediver Level 2 and Performance Freediving Level 3.

For those looking to turn a passion into a profession, they provide training to Become an Instructor. Specialist workshops are also available, covering Equalization, Depth Training, and Pool Training, alongside Basic Spearfishing and Spearfishing Safety & Training. They also offer specialised Mermaid programmes.

For those training in Mexico City, the centre provides access to pool facilities for structured sessions. In La Paz, they offer kit hire including masks, snorkels, and fins for your excursions.

Full kit hire is available for those who prefer not to travel with their own equipment. The facility is set up to support both technical training and recreational outings.
