Dive In Bintan

Located on Bintan Island, Indonesia, Dive In Bintan has been a fixture of the local diving scene since its establishment in 2014. Originally known as Tasik Divers Bintan, the centre underwent a restructuring in 2018 to focus its expertise on the diverse marine environments of the Riau Islands, including Bintan and Batam.

The centre is positioned for easy access from Singapore, with ferry connections from Tanah Merah to the Bandar Bentan Telani or Tanjung Pinang terminals. This proximity makes it a practical choice for divers looking to combine a trip to Indonesia with their travels through Southeast Asia.

The centre is led by Monica Undap, one of the first female professional instructors certified in Indonesia. Her deep experience in the Manado region and the Riau Islands brings a high level of local knowledge to every guided dive.

Instruction and guiding are conducted in English and Indonesian. As a 5-star SDI affiliated centre, the team maintains professional standards across all training and exploration activities, whether you are completing a certification or joining a fun dive.

Dive In Bintan offers training through the SDI system. The course catalogue includes entry-level programmes such as the Open Water Diver course, as well as the Advanced Adventure Diver programme for those looking to expand their skills.

Beyond initial certifications, the centre facilitates various exploration dives and discovery dives for those new to the underwater environment.

The fleet includes the KM GATTINO, a LiveOnBoard vessel designed for multi-day island-hopping adventures. For shorter trips, the centre operates the Arrietty, a speedboat powered by twin outboard engines with a capacity for 6 divers and 12 cylinders.

For day trips, the Pompoko is used to transport up to 10 divers and 20 cylinders. All vessels are equipped with essential safety gear and onboard toilets, and the boats provide freshwater showers to rinse off after a dive. On day trips, light refreshments and packed meals are provided to keep you fueled between sites.

The centre maintains several bases on the island, including locations at the Aston Tanjung Pinang and in the Trikora area. Full kit hire is available for those not travelling with their own equipment. For night dives, torches are provided as part of the service.

The reefs around Bintan are characterised by healthy populations of turtles and large, vibrant gorgonians. You will often see large schools of juvenile fish moving through the water column, adding movement to the seascape.

For those with an eye for detail, the area is a haven for macro life. The surrounding habitats support a variety of smaller organisms that make every reef encounter unique.

Diving in the Riau Islands is subject to local maritime conditions, with the centre offering night dives as part of its regular schedule. Access to the Trikora area is facilitated by transfers from several local resorts.
