Maricaban Diving Resort Inc, operating as Sounds of the Oceans, provides a dedicated diving experience in the Coron archipelago. Established in 2006, the centre is affiliated with NAUI, focusing on a structured approach to both recreational diving and professional training.

The resort is situated on the north side of Busuanga Island, built into the mountainside to offer a natural, relaxed environment. It is approximately a half-hour drive from the Coron Town airport, providing a quiet base for your diving expeditions.

The centre operates with a focus on small group dynamics, maintaining a ratio of one instructor for every four divers. For those seeking more intensive training, they also offer personalised one-to-one instruction to ensure skills are mastered in a distraction-free environment.

Led by Mike Sir, the team is committed to the continuous improvement of diver skills. They aim to provide a reliable and safe club atmosphere where certified divers can find regular dive outings and consistent companionship.

The centre offers a full range of NAUI courses for every stage of a diver's progression. Beginners can start with SCUBA Diver training, moving through Advanced Diver and Master Diver levels.

For those looking to specialise or progress professionally, the curriculum includes Nitrox Diver, Rescue Diver, DiveMaster, and Instructor certifications.

Full rental kit is available on-site, including BCDs, regulators, instruments, wetsuits, masks, snorkels, and fins. For those who prefer to bring their own equipment, the centre provides weight belts and access to Nitrox.

The resort facilities include spacious, bright accommodation and an on-site restaurant, allowing you to transition easily from the boat to a comfortable setting.

The waters around Coron are home to a variety of reef fish and hard corals that create a vibrant underwater scenery. You will frequently encounter butterflyfish (Chaetodon) and various species of angelfish (Pomacanthidae) navigating the reef structures.

Larger pelagics and interesting residents include great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), rabbitfish, and turtles. Keep a careful eye on the sandy patches or seagrass for the occasional dugong.

Macro life and smaller residents include shrimp (Caridea) and various reef fish. The presence of venomous sea snakes adds to the biological diversity of the local ecosystem.
