Reggae Dive Center

Located in the diving capital of the Philippines, Reggae Dive Center serves as a primary gateway to the legendary wreck sites of Coron. The centre has been operating for over 18 years, establishing itself as a highly recognised PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre.

Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or are an experienced diver seeking technical wreck penetrations, the centre is positioned to accommodate all levels. Its proximity to the airport makes it an easy arrival point for those flying into the Palawan region.

The centre is managed by an Austrian-Philippine family, ensuring a blend of high organisational standards and deep local knowledge. The team is composed of both Filipino and international staff, all of whom are fluent in English to ensure clear communication during briefings and training.

As an Instructor Development Centre, the facility is geared towards professional progression. They have been responsible for delivering thousands of PADI certifications, making them a significant contributor to the diving community in the Philippines.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses, starting from Discover Scuba Diving and the Open Water Diver course through to Advanced Open Water Diver. For those looking to specialise, they provide the PADI Wreck Specialty and PADI Deep Diver Specialty.

Professional training is a core focus, with programmes available for Rescue Diver, Divemaster, and instructor-level development. They also offer the PADI Nitrox (Enriched Air Diver) course, which can be taken as a full course or a dry course, as well as a Refresher/Tune-up programme for divers looking to regain their confidence.

The fleet includes traditional outrigger boats and speedboats, both powered by two reliable diesel engines. These vessels are designed to be spacious and comfortable for long days on the water, providing plenty of room for divers to relax between descents.

On board, you will find freshly prepared lunches, snacks, and fruit to keep your energy up. The boats also feature a relaxation area on the roof with poufs, a kitchen, and toilets. After your final dive of the day, the crew provides beverages, including soda, coffee, and beer.

Full rental kit is available on-site, including masks, fins, wetsuits, regulators, BCDs, and weight belts. For those who prefer to use their own equipment, the centre is well-equipped to handle your needs.

Nitrox is available for use, with 12-litre and 15-litre cylinders provided. If you require a dive computer, these can be hired on a daily basis. For underwater photographers, the centre also offers DJI cameras or SeaLife housings for hire.

The waters around Coron are home to a variety of pelagics and reef species. You may encounter Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) patrolling the wrecks, alongside various species of rabbitfish, Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and Angelfish (Pomacanthidae).

In the surrounding reefs, look out for turtles and a diverse array of reef fish. The area is also known for the presence of Dugongs, though these sightings are subject to seasonal availability.

The seabed and reef structures are colonised by hard corals and various corals that provide a complex habitat for smaller life. You may also spot venomous sea snakes navigating the reef flats and rocky areas.

Diving in Coron is influenced by the local geography, with specific sites like Barracuda Lake offering completely still water. Some locations, such as the Cathedral Cave, are subject to seasonal accessibility and are only available during the low season if weather conditions permit.

Certain sites, such as Siete Pecados and Twin Peaks, are part of protected marine areas. Divers should be aware that specific entry fees apply to these locations.
