The address is Malaroyroy Peninsula on Bulalacao Island, in Coron, Philippines, around 22 km south of Coron Town. The resort sits directly beside the sea, with two white-sand beaches measuring 200 metres each: one faces sunrise and the other sunset. Mangroves run alongside them, giving the coastline a little more substance than the usual strip of sand and sun loungers.

Getting there is part of the geography. From Busuanga Airport, the journey combines a 30-minute drive with a 45-minute boat ride. Coron Town is reached by boat, while the nearest listed beaches beyond the resort are Bulog Dos Island Beach, around 100 metres away by road, and Banana Island Beach, around 1 km away. In practical terms, you are choosing an island resort rather than a hotel in town.

The accommodation is arranged as bungalows and casitas, with a tropical Filipino design, high ceilings and modern interiors. Air conditioning matters here: after salt, sun and warm water, being able to cool the room properly is more useful than another decorative flourish. You also have a private balcony, a seating area with a sofa, a flat-screen television, a fridge and a coffee machine. The drying rack is for your clothes and swimwear, not diving kit; keep those jobs separate and everyone remains happier.

For two, the choice is mainly about where you want the room to sit in the landscape. Seaview and Beach Bungalows suit you if looking towards the water is part of the point, while the Mountain Bungalow keeps the focus on the surrounding terrain. The Hilltop Bungalow is the sensible option when you need more room for a family group. Several casitas use an extra-large double bed, which makes them an easy fit for a couple who would rather not negotiate sleeping arrangements after a long day outdoors.

Bathrooms vary by accommodation category, so check the individual room card before booking rather than assuming every room follows the same layout. The listed room facilities also include a wardrobe, linen, towels, bathrobes, slippers, a hairdryer and a private balcony. There is a fan as well as air conditioning, plus a desk and dining area when you need to sort photographs, messages or tomorrow's plans without balancing everything on your knees.

Sulu Restaurant is the main dining address, serving local and international dishes. That gives you a useful range when one person wants familiar food and the other wants to try something from the Philippines. Room service is available, and the resort also has a snack bar for the moments when a full meal feels like an unnecessary administrative procedure.

There is one named bar: Bahura Bar. It is the place for a cold drink between beach time and dinner, with the pool nearby and the sea doing most of the talking. The resort also offers beach dining, so you can take an evening meal onto the sand rather than eating every course indoors.
