As an SSI Diamond centre, Blue Planet Divers maintains high standards of instruction and boat operations. The team is multilingual, providing guidance in English, French, and German, ensuring clear communication during briefings and underwater training.

The centre places a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility as a Silver Green Fins member. This commitment to sustainable diving practices is integrated into their daily operations and training programmes.

Instruction is handled by a professional team capable of teaching everything from basic recreational skills to professional instructor training. To ensure safety and personalised attention, the centre maintains a ratio of four divers per guide.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of SSI certifications. Beginners can start with Try Scuba Diving or the Basic Scuba Diver course, progressing through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver levels.

For more specialised skills, the centre offers Nitrox Diver, Deep Diver, and Diver Stress & Rescue courses. They also provide professional-level training, including Dive Guide, Instructor Training Courses (ITC), and Instructor Crossover programmes.

Beyond scuba, there is a significant focus on freediving. You can undertake everything from a Discover Freediving session to full SSI Freediver, Advanced Freediver, and Assistant Freediver courses, as well as Go Pro SSI Learn Pro AIDA programmes.

The fleet consists of three well-equipped boats, including a large catamaran that serves as the primary vessel for daily excursions. The catamaran features panoramic decks, dedicated dining areas, and sun decks, providing a comfortable platform for long days at sea.

On board, you will find dedicated dive decks and areas for meals. The boats are equipped to provide breakfast, lunch, snacks, and various beverages during the trip. For those looking to capture their dives, an optional professional underwater photographer is available on board.

The centre provides a full range of rental equipment for divers who do not wish to carry their own kit. This includes complete sets of diving gear, with individual items such as masks and fins also available for hire.

For those staying longer, the centre operates a dedicated dive house with recently renovated, comfortable rooms. This facility is included for divers booking multi-day packages, providing a convenient base for your diving holiday.

The reefs are draped in a rich tapestry of life, featuring extensive displays of soft corals (Alcyonacea) and hard corals. You will find various sponges, such as giant barrel sponge, and sea fans (Gorgoniidae) providing structure for the many species that call these walls home.

Macro life enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, including various nudibranchs, harlequin shrimps, and imperial shrimp. The crevices often hide Ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus), Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda), and various species of shrimp and crabs, such as porcelain crabs.

In the open water and around the pinnacles, larger species appear, particularly at Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. During certain periods, you may encounter Manta ray (Mobula alfredi) or Whale shark (Rhincodon typus). The area is also home to various sharks, including Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus), Leopard shark (Triakis semifasciata), and Zebra sharks.

Schooling fish are a constant presence, with large numbers of Jacks (Carangidae), Trevally, and various Snapper (Lutjanus) species moving through the water column. You can also spot many colourful reef fish, including Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), Angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and various species of Wrasse.

Diving conditions in the Andaman Sea vary by season. The primary diving season runs from September to June, with the best conditions for the deep pinnacles of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang occurring between October 15 and May 15.

While many sites like Koh Bida and the various wrecks are accessible year-round, divers should be aware that currents can become significant on the deeper offshore sites. Planning your trip around the seasonal windows for Koh Haa and the southern pinnacles will ensure the best experience.
