Dive & Relax

Dive & Relax has been operating in the Andaman Sea since 2009, providing a professional gateway to the marine parks of Mu Koh Lanta and Mu Koh Phi Phi. They focus on a personalised approach, avoiding the large-scale crowds by using custom speedboats for all excursions.

The centre is uniquely defined by its team, which is composed of local Chao Lay community members. These experienced local fishermen and divers bring a deep, ancestral knowledge of the currents and the underwater terrain to every trip.

The centre is an SSI affiliated diving school providing instruction for all levels. All sessions are conducted in English and Thai, ensuring clear communication for both local and international divers.

Safety is a priority with a strict ratio of one guide for every four divers. This ensures you receive close supervision and individual attention during your dives or snorkelling trips.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of SSI certifications and specialties. You can start your journey with Discover Scuba Diving or work through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses.

For those looking to extend their recreational limits, Enriched Air Nitrox, Deep Diver Specialty, and Perfect Buoyancy are available. The curriculum also includes technical skills such as Navigation Specialty, Scuba Refresher, and safety-focused training like React Right First Aid & CPR and Diver Stress & Rescue.

The fleet consists of two custom speedboats, each powered by 200hp engines to ensure efficient transit to the dive sites. These vessels are designed for small groups, with a maximum capacity of 10 divers or snorkelers on board.

Onboard facilities include comfortable seating, custom bottle racks, a freshwater shower, and western-style toilets. For longer trips, you will find unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and an authentic Thai lunch served on the boat. Medical oxygen and life jackets are kept on board for safety.

The centre provides full kit hire for those who do not wish to carry their own equipment. All gear is available for fitting on-site to ensure a proper fit for every diver.

Nitrox is available for use, and the centre is fully equipped with medical oxygen for safety. The facility includes convenient access to the beach for departures, with pick-up options available from hotels with direct beach access on the northwest of Koh Lanta.

The reefs of Koh Lanta and the surrounding islands are teeming with life. You will encounter various reef fish including butterflyfish (Chaetodon), angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and various species of snapper (Lutjanus) and grouper (Epinephelinae). Schools of fusiliers (Caesio) and jacks (Carangidae) are common, alongside parrotfish, batfish (Platax), and various species of damselfish.

For those watching the sand or the reef edges, you may see rays (Batoidea), stingrays (Myliobatiformes), and various species of sharks, including reef sharks (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos) and blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus). Turtles (Cheloniidae) and larger pelagics like trevally and barracuda (Sphyraena) are also present in these waters.

Macro enthusiasts can look for a diverse array of smaller organisms, such as pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, and various species of shrimp (Caridea). You may spot octopus (Octopus vulgaris), cuttlefish (Sepiidae), and various species of moray eels (Muraenidae) tucked into the reef structure.

Fixed life forms provide the essential backdrop to the area, including various soft corals (Alcyonacea), hard corals, gorgonians (Gorgonacea), and various types of sponges and anemones (Actiniaria).

The best time to dive in this region is from October to May, during the period of the west wind and the high season.

During the monsoon season, from June to early October, the east wind and storms can make conditions less favourable for diving.
