OK Club Diving Center

Located on the island of Koh Lanta in Thailand, OK Club Diving Center provides a specialised gateway to the limestone topography of the Andaman Sea. While many local operations focus on high-volume recreational trips, this centre distinguishes itself through a commitment to technical expertise and small-group dynamics.

The centre is particularly notable for being the only facility in the Krabi region to offer formal training in technical diving and cave exploration. This makes it a primary hub for divers looking to progress beyond standard recreational limits into more complex environments.

The centre maintains a personal, family-oriented atmosphere that prioritises individual diver needs over large crowds. Instruction is conducted in English, making it accessible to the international diving community.

Safety and quality are managed through a strict diver-to-guide ratio of two divers per guide. This ensures close supervision during both recreational outings and advanced technical training sessions.

As an SSI affiliated centre, the curriculum covers the entire spectrum of diver progression. You can begin with Basic Diver or Open Water Diver courses and move through Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver, and Rescue Diver.

The centre is a specialist hub for technical training, offering SSI and IANTD courses including Enriched Air Nitrox, Wreck Diver, Sidemount, and Tek Lite Essentials. For those pursuing advanced cave or technical paths, they provide training in Extended Range, Tek Sidemount, Cavern Diver, and full Cave Diver certifications.

Professional training is also available for those looking to join the industry, with pathways leading to Divemaster and SSI Instructor levels.

Excursions are conducted using speedboats, which allow the team to reach the most sought-after dive sites early in the morning. This timing helps you beat the crowds at popular locations.

On board, the centre provides refreshments including drinks, fresh fruit, breakfast, lunch, water, and juice to sustain you throughout the day.

The centre offers full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. For technical divers, sidemount rental is available for those holding the appropriate certifications.

All equipment used by the centre follows DIN fitting standards. Nitrox is available on-site, and oxygen safety equipment is maintained for dive site security.

The Andaman Sea around Koh Lanta is home to a vast array of pelagic species. You may encounter Whale shark (Rhincodon typus) and Manta ray (Mobula alfredi) during the right conditions, alongside Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) and various species of reef shark.

The reef structures are built upon a foundation of hard corals and soft corals (Alcyonacea), providing a home for colourful reef fish. You will regularly see schools of fish, including fusiliers (Caesio), snappers (Lutjanus), and various species of butterflyfish (Chaetodon) navigating the corals.

Macro life is abundant for those with an eye for detail. The sites host Ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus), various nudibranchs, and many species of shrimp. You can also find Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda), Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), and various species of scorpionfish.

Larger residents include turtles, various species of rays (Batoidea), and predators such as the Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) and various Jacks (Carangidae).

Diving in this region involves varied conditions depending on the site. Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are known for frequent strong currents, requiring an advanced level of buoyancy control and experience.

While much of the area is accessible to all levels, the limestone topography often creates specific environments like surge or current-heavy passages in the caves and swim-throughs.
