Passion Scuba Diving is situated in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, positioned perfectly to access the rich marine environments between Cap d’Antibes and Cap Ferrat. The centre operates year-round, catering to those looking for everything from initial discovery dives to advanced technical training.

With a focus on both exploration and formal instruction, the centre provides a gateway to the Mediterranean's diverse underwater topography. From rocky drop-offs and complex canyon systems to sandy plateaus, the local sites offer a wide variety of environments for all experience levels.

The centre is led by Antoine, an E4 DEJEPS instructor with 25 years of experience in the field. This depth of expertise ensures that training and guided explorations are handled with a high level of professional competence.

The team follows the FFESSM and CMAS frameworks, providing a structured approach to diving progression. This affiliation allows for a clear pathway from beginner levels through to advanced certifications, including the RIFAP instructor training.

Training is conducted under the FFESSM and CMAS affiliations, covering a comprehensive range of certifications. Beginners can start with a Baptême or the Stage Découverte (PE12), moving through the Encadré and Autonome series at various depths including PE12, PE20, PE40, PE60, PA12, PA20, PA40, and PA60.

For more advanced divers, the centre offers Brevet International levels 1, 2, and 3. They also provide the RIFAP course for those pursuing instructor-level training. All formal training requires a general medical certificate.

The Optimus is a 12-metre aluminium vessel commissioned in 2022, designed specifically with diver comfort and safety in mind. It is a spacious and fast boat, capable of carrying up to 30 passengers and 4 crew members.

The vessel is used for a variety of trip types, including exploration dives, night dives, and snorkeling excursions. Its modern build ensures reliable transit to the many sites located 20 to 45 minutes away from the port.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. They use Aqualung products, with a rental inventory that is contractually renewed and maintained to high standards. Sizes are available from XXS to XXXL, covering everything from wetsuits to BCDs and regulators.

Individual items such as computers, torches, and masks can also be hired. For those looking for more specific needs, the centre manages a wide range of kit to ensure divers are well-equipped for both day dives and night explorations.

The Mediterranean habitats around Cap d'Antibes and Cap Ferrat are incredibly biodiverse. On the rocky walls and drop-offs, you will find vibrant gorgonians, red corals, and Neptune's lace. These structures provide a home for large groupers, much-coveted dentex, and various species of moray eels.

In the seagrass meadows and sandy areas, the life is equally varied. You can encounter octopus, rays, and various species of wrasse, alongside porpoises or even larger pelagics like tuna and leerfish that pass through the area.

Macro life is abundant for those who look closely. The crevices and corals host nudibranchs, sea anemones, starfish, and various crustaceans, including spiny lobster, hermit crabs, and shrimp. You may also spot sea urchins and many different species of small fish like sars and saupes.

During the summer, the area becomes a particularly interesting place to observe octopus during their reproduction period. In the deeper sections, you may also encounter more specialised residents such as anglerfish and scorpionfish.

Diving in this region is subject to varying conditions depending on the specific site. While many sites offer calm environments, others like the Tombant des Américains are known for more powerful currents, and the Arenas site is noted for its technical current profiles.

Some sites, such as Cap Gros, typically experience gentle currents, while others offer more sheltered environments. The underwater topography, ranging from open sea mounts to protected canyons, means that swell and current will vary significantly from one location to the next.
