The reefs are teeming with life, from large pelagics to colourful reef fish. You will regularly encounter schools of snapper, jacks (Carangidae), and barracudas, as well as groupers (Epinephelus) and various species of triggerfish (Balistidae). Turtles and rays (Batoidea) are also common visitors to the sandy slopes and reef edges.

For those interested in the smaller details, the macro life is exceptional. Keep a sharp eye out for nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and various species of octopus (Octopus vulgaris). Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) and stonefish (Synanceia) often hide amongst the reef structure, while Spanish dancers add a flash of colour to the seabed.

The hard and soft coral architecture provides a stunning backdrop for the resident fauna. You will find vast gardens of gorgonians (Gorgoniidae), large sea fans, and various sponges (Porifera) that support a high density of anthias (Anthias), butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and damselfish.

Most of the sites in Dahab are accessible via shore entries, allowing for flexible dive planning. The terrain varies from gentle sandy slopes to steep walls and narrow canyons, which can influence local water movement.
