Fantasea Divers

Fantasea Divers has been a fixture of the Dahab diving scene since 2003, having certified more than 5,000 divers over the last two decades. The centre is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort, positioned to serve both those looking for their first breath underwater and seasoned divers seeking more remote locations.

Located within the Coral Coast Hotel, the centre sits right on the edge of the Eel Garden dive site. This central location makes getting to the water exceptionally easy. For those wanting to venture beyond the immediate coastline, the centre organises specialised safaris by camel, jeep, or boat to reach the more pristine areas of the Red Sea.

The team is comprised of experienced, multilingual instructors and guides who prioritise professional standards and safety. Whether you are working through a certification or heading out on a multi-day safari, the staff is trained to handle the specific logistics of the Dahab coastline.

The centre is well-equipped to manage various diver needs, offering everything from Discover Scuba Diving for beginners to professional Divemaster internships. Their expertise extends to specialised disciplines, including freediving through AIDA courses and various PADI specialty training.

Fantasea Divers offers a complete spectrum of PADI training. This begins with Discover Scuba Diving and the Open Water Diver course, moving through to Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and the Master Scuba Diver rating. They also provide specific training for technical skills, such as the PADI Deep Diver Specialty and the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course.

Beyond standard scuba, the centre is a hub for freediving, offering AIDA 1 through AIDA 4 courses. For those interested in the professional route, the Divemaster Internship is available. They also run a variety of specialty courses covering photography, peak performance buoyancy, navigation, and environmental conservation through Project AWARE and Coral Reef Conservation.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit for those not travelling with their own equipment. You can hire complete sets, including regulators, BCDs, and wetsuits, as well as specific items like fins and masks.

Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to extend their bottom time. The facility is designed to be a convenient base, with easy access to the water and support for all your diving needs.

The reefs around Dahab are teeming with life, from large pelagics to colourful reef fish. You will frequently encounter schools of fish, including snapper schools, fusiliers (Caesio), and jacks (Carangidae). Larger visitors such as Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), tuna (Thunnus), and occasional whale sharks (occasional) can be seen in the blue.

The hard and soft coral structures provide a home for a vast array of species. Look for sea fans (Gorgoniidae), black corals, and various sponges (Porifera) decorating the walls. You can often spot triggerfish (Balistidae), parrotfish (Calotomus), and unicornfish (Naso) grazing amongst the reef.

For those with a keen eye for macro life, the crevices hold many treasures. You may find octopus (Octopus vulgaris), scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), and various species of moray eels (Muraenidae), including peppered morays. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs, seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and different types of shrimp (Caridea) hiding in the coral.

Diving in Dahab is possible year-round. The accessibility of sites varies significantly depending on whether you are taking a standard shore dive or a safari; some locations, like Nabq National Park, can be more demanding depending on the season.
