Mirage Divers

The centre is founded and managed by the local Bedouin community, specifically led by Ali Ayish. This local management ensures that the instruction and guiding are underpinned by a profound understanding of the Red Sea's specific currents, topography, and seasonal changes.

The team provides qualified instructors for a broad spectrum of training, from entry-level SCUBA to advanced technical disciplines. Their expertise extends beyond traditional diving to include professional freediving instruction and specialized technical training.

The course catalogue is extensive, covering the full PADI progression from Open Water Diver through to Divemaster. For those looking to deepen their skills, they offer PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver, and Rescue Diver certifications.

The reefs around Dahab are teeming with life, from colourful reef fish like Butterflyfish (Chaetodon) and Bannerfish (Heniochus) to larger predators. You will often see schools of fish, including snappers, jacks (Carangidae), and trevally, moving across the reef flat.

For those interested in larger species, the area is known for sightings of turtles, rays (Batoidea), and various sharks such as the Whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus) and Grey reef shark (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos). Occasional visits from whale sharks can also occur.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to investigate among the corals and sponges. Look for Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda), and various species of octopus (Octopus vulgaris) tucked into the reef structure. The seascape is defined by a rich variety of fixed life, including brain coral, soft corals, sea fans (Gorgoniidae), and various anemones (Actiniaria). Sponges (Porifera) and sea anemones provide essential habitats for smaller residents like Clownfish (Amphiprion) and various species of shrimp (Caridea).

Diving in Dahab is largely characterized by shore access, though the centre also organises boat excursions to offshore sites like Tiran. Divers should be prepared for varying conditions depending on whether they are exploring the sheltered reefs or heading out to open water sites.
